Thank you. I'm new to Forscan, so I haven't done a lot, but I need to spend some time with Forscan connected and look at the sections that are not "as built" I know those are change multiple things at once, but I should read through them to learn more at a minimum.

What source do you wizards use to know what each line does and what value should be updated to make certain things happen?
A magical source, I call it....Google.

🤣

In all seriousness, there are dedicated Forscan forums that are helpful.

The biggest thing to remember is to keep an original prestine backup as I believe the truck can send updated data to the motorcraft site.

I know plenty of folks were asking exactly what the glare free lightning did, so I just nabbed this from my truck (which I performed the coding on earlier this week).

I live out in the country, so this clip is a good example of the lights following around a corner, automatically dimming for oncoming traffic (car and motorcycle) and then slowly reverting after they've passed.

If folks are interested, I may do a video on Forscan with the F150 on our channel over the holidays.
Nikki.

Great video, I think a Forscan video would be awesome. Probably get more folks interested in using Forscan and growing the community.

Interesting, I’ve had Adaptive Headlights since my late July delivery….well, at least my first night drive in early August. Nothing to setup (no ForScan modifications ) and nothing shows on my dash🤔

I got that wrong. I've been fightning with a computer all day ;)

I meant "Glare Free", of course.

Im getting my lightning tomorrow. The one thing I didnt get on the truck that I want is the integrated trailer brake controller... Hoping this is something I can add with ForScan

The good news is others have posted (in an unrelated thread) that the wiring for that controller is terminated behind the coin holder.

Yeah I saw that. Also looks like the whole dash doesnt have to come out to get access. Do ones without the tow tech come with the 7 pin? My fingers are crossed that it is a simple enabling in ForScan.

I'm having an issue with HCM changes for the glare free lights. All the other modules were able to be changed with no issues. I changed the lightbar, the seatbelt chime, the global windows, and all of the other modules for glare free, just not the HCM changes. "Service procedure has been interrupted" in the log every time I try.

I have an extended range lariat. Not sure of the build date. OBDLink EX cable. Using v2.3.49. Should I contact forscan or is there another possible fix I can try first?

Someone mind sharing what the latest version of Forscan Beta is? I’m on 2.4.6 beta and it says “unable to identify vehicle” so I’m just wondering. Have an email to Forscan but still waiting.

Forscan has responded that 2.4.6 IS the latest beta. I’m using Windows 11 (x64) and the official OBDLink EX adapter. I did the installation of the drivers. I did the firmware update.

They also just stated, regarding the error, “It is expected, the 2.4.6 is outdated and doesn't support F-150 BEV. But 2.4.7 beta (that will support it) is not released yet (still in work).

So how is everyone doing this? I followed the guide linked in the first post.

I've had Forscan for about 3 months - at that point you had to email and tell them you had a Lightning and that you needed that specific build. At that time it was 2.3.49. Unless recently incorporated, their normal Beta's won't work.

I have not checked in for an update since my first download.

I told them in the email my vehicle and they didn’t say anything other than that response. I’ll try again with them.

Ok, as of right now, there is no reason to request the beta from ForScan if you are just looking to make the changes listed here. The publicly available 2.3.49 allowed me to connect without the "unable to identify vehicle" error.

Paraphrasing their support team: For module configuration changes (configuration parameters) only, the official v2.3.49 release should work fine. v2.4 that is in beta has the same functionality as 2.3 branch + Module Firmware Update function.
