Missing FordPass Points

I’ve been a bit stumped as to why I haven’t seen points from my Lightning purchase show up in the FordPass app. I found a way to look at activity in the app and even request missing points related to the purchase. When I went to do so, however, I got an error saying I didn’t activate my modem within 60 days and tough luck. I have no idea what this is referring to. First of all, I’ve only had the truck for 30 days so WTF. I’ve had the intermittent issue with the modem not responding but I’ve received update 4.1.1 OTA so I know that works at least. What am I missing here? Anyone experienced this? I’m going to call Ford CS but curious to learn from others first, if possible. Pretty pathetic that a truck’s modem not operating could cost you points.

Related, wondering if this is related to me not being able to get the most recent OTA updates in any condition, under any circumstance, driving, parked, dressed, undressed, etc

I would suspect the dealership has not closed the sales record on their system!!

Thanks. I’ll start there. They also owe me $600 from my deposits at reservation and order so it wouldn’t surprise me.

Not to worry, you can call the customer service and they will fix it for you. I had the same issue and mine was related to the Ford app getting activated before delivery. Perhaps you had the same thing? My Ford pass app was activated 5 months before delivery and it turns out their automated system starts the modem authorization from the day you activate Fordpass and not necessarily the day you buy your vehicle. I guess they assumed, you shouldn't be able to activate before you buy but that's clearly not the case in many circumstances. When I called they saw when I purchased the vehicle and when the modem was activated and reimbursed me the missing points. They were good for getting mud flaps.

Thanks! I will wait for the credit. As long as I get them before @Lightning Rod. ;)
Edit: Points were added overnight. 22K credit. Added mud flaps to cart, checkout only ask for CC and not use points. Guess I need to Google how to redeem.

I had the same thing happen to me except mine was activated on purpose. Regardless, customer service helped me out and corrected their system.

I had the same thing happen to me except mine was activated on purpose. Regardless, customer service helped me out and corrected their system.
Trust me, mine was activated on purpose as well :). The moment I have seen activate on the FordPass App, I clicked on it and someone accepted in the vehicle. The thing I didn't anticipate was, it took Ford 5 months to ship the vehicle after that. My build date was 5/30 and got delivery end of November!

Does one get points for buying the SunRun HIS and/or the charger Pro (extra since I got SR XLT)? I purchased both, just wondering if I should look for points.

I purchased my 2022 Lightning Lariat on March 6, 2023, as a Gold Certified pre-owned vehicle. I called FordPass Rewards customer service to make sure I received points for my purchase.

Turns out the previous owner bought the truck new on August 25, 2022, from the same dealership. She received FordPass Rewards points for that purchase. But because she didn't keep the truck for 6 months, Ford deducted the points from her account and credited them to me instead as the new owner.

The moral of this story is that if you're planning to sell your new truck, make sure you keep it for at least 6 months if you want to keep your FordPass Rewards points!
