I have a 2022 Lightning, had it since October, 13k miles on it so far.
Over the last month I noticed something mildly alarming. I usually plug my truck in 3-4 times a week, and all but two times I have charged it, has been at home.
Here's the interesting bit, I noticed my total range dropped from 220 miles at 100% to 206 about 3 weeks ago. Thought that was odd, so I decided to change my charge settings to just charge up to 90% to see what that would be... Still shows 206 miles of range on a 90% charge.
Now the strangest part, (I am a man of consistency if nothing else), When I charged my truck to 100% and did my normal day, I got home with 167 miles of range left, about 70% battery. When I charged it to 90% I STILL get home with 167 miles of range at 70%. During the winter (when I was interested to see how the cold weather would affect things), I would get home with 172 miles of range at around 78% charge. Keep in mind, during winter I had that heater maxxed out on my daily drive, and currently I am not using heat or AC, just blowing air, yet I lost 15 miles of range? Something has to be a miss here. Any ideas or tests I should try before calling ford?
