I have done and looked at everything I can, but I can’t drive truck with PAAK. I can start it but it won’t let me put it in gear. Always need FOB to actually drive it.

what am I doing wrong???

Does the truck greet you as you approach with the phone? Can you open the locked door just by grabbing the handle?

Dumb question: You do have PAAK setup on your phone?

I turned my Paak off due to issues with my truck sensing my phone at night and clicking on every few minutes. Its draining my 12v battery and sending error messages. ( I'm troubleshooting and I'm pretty sure it's PAAK)

It's not as convenient as it seems. The issues outweigh the convenience.

Have you tried a search for PAAK installation issues brought up in other threads? Seems there are a number of ups and downs using the system...requires crossing fingers, special prayers, etc?

Your PAAK configuration might be disabled in some way, try rebooting your phone.
If that does not work, you should delete the PAAK keys on the truck and the app, a start from scratch.

You should have the FRUNK & TAILGATE icons available as well, they are active when you're w/i bluetooth range, grayed out when not in range.

I’ll give that a try when I’m back home. Don’t want to try it until then. That will be in 2 weeks.

Have you set up PAAK using the screen in the truck and configured a backup passcode? If you have not set a backup passcode in the truck then you have not set up PAAK.

By chance you you confusing the FordPass App’s Remote Start function with PAAK? If you are remote starting the truck with the App and you have not actually set up PAAK then you won’t be able to drive off after entering the vehicle unless you have a key fob.

When set up properly, PAAK will function just like a key fob does. You won’t need to interact with the FordPass app. You simple walk up to the truck, grab the door handle, it will unlock, then hop in and start it using the start button. Just like using a key fob.

This screen looks like you have not actually set up PAAK. You should have two more buttons next to the horn button at the bottom, for opening the frunk and tailgate.

I’m confused on how you think the truck is “started”. If you are using the app to remote start that is not PAAK but simply the standard FordPass functionality. And it requires you have PAAK enabled or a fob to finalize the “start” when you enter the cab. The display will either indicate to push Start or no key detected.

if you are just walking up and entering the truck the displays will welcome you but that is not starting the truck.

My old truck had none of these features so there is a learning curve!

I think we’ve determined that the OP hasn’t setup PAAK yet.

Right. But I wanted to explain why he thinks PAAK was starting his truck. I think he was confusing it with the standard app functionality or the welcome screens.
