Hi all
Just got my truck yesterday and love it!
1 question off the right away though. I wasnt expecting the sound of a "winding down" when slowing to a stop. Im using 2P drive as only had it for like 15 hours...
Its not bad but definitely noticeable and Ive not seen it mentioned before. Acceleration is dead quiet as is reverse. Just slowing just before stopping like at a stop sign or parking.
Thanks for listening!

You’ll come to appreciate that sound. It’s regen charging your battery.

It's part of the pedestrian warning drone, it "winds up" when you start from a stop and back "down" when you come to a stop. As far as I can tell it tapers down above 15 and pretty much goes away above 20. At that point there's sufficient road noise. Honestly though, it's superfluous when it's hot outside and the A/C is running. The compressor is as loud as an ICE idling.

My truck is going into dealership Oct 16 for the CSP 23B57, and they asked if I have any other concerns..
I have deleted the pedestrian warning sound speaker (temporarily), as I still believe my truck has a noisy acceleration and deceleration characteristic..
As mentioned it sits right between 15km and 20km (9mph and 12mph) on acceleration/deceleration, and its loud inside the cab, and can be heard inside out house! My neighbors have said we can hear when you get home as it permeates through walls, and truthfully wakes up our 🐕.. It seems to be coming more from the back motor.
Happens exact same when using 1PD or not, and in all drive modes.
Stop and go traffic is a bit of a drag with it.
I cant believe this sound is normal...
Attaching video clips (hopefully)..Does your truck sound like this?

Yah, I don't think it's any sort of purposeful noise. It's just the sound of beefy engines. The motors in our trucks are a bit over engineered. I personally enjoy the sound, it's quasi scifi. I don't think there's any way to mask it, if you drop the hammer in a Tesla you'll hear motor whine too just not quite as loud, because again, our motors are beefy.

Edit: I also don't think it's necessarily regen either. Our motors spin at very high rpm so I think we simply can't hear it the upper bands but at low rpms when it's spooling that's when it becomes audible. That's my guess, at least.

Never heard a lightning make that sound. Sounds like the Jetsons' model.

I am sure your dealer should be able to identify the problem

Drop it into 1P and you'll hear feel even more of the regenerating effect.

The sound is the same whenever the speed is within that range, regardless of 1PD or 2. We use 2PD typically in Sport mode. Makes no difference what mode or drive you're using.
I think its an issue, but dealer should be able to confirm/compare to other F150 Ls on lot.

I responded before I saw the video. I thought you were hearing "normal" regenerating sounds. Your's may be possessed...

Same here, mine for sure winds down but not like that. That's interesting though, let us know what the dealership says.

Mine makes these noises as well. Not sure its as loud as yours. Seems to only be present at low speeds. I just assume its normal operation of the electric motors.

I'm in Canada and it reminds me of the sounds you hear on the Vancouver Skytrain.
