I've decided I want to trade in my R1T for an F150 Lightning. There are 3 dealers within 50 miles of me that have a Lariat ER in stock, and they are all selling MSRP - $7500 incentive. I'm only in the snow a few days out of the year, so I don't think the heat pump is going to matter much to me. Is there any reason I should order a 2024 model over picking up a 2023 off a dealer lot?

Depends on if the 2023 model has heated steering wheel and the digital scales due to shortages. It may not. 2024 also comes with a heat pump vs resistive heater (more winter range). However they are boosting the price again supposedly so it will be more expensive. Otherwise, no. Its a great truck now and won’t change much in a year.

I would go for the 2023 simply because of the price. The additions that the 2024 will have are not worth the significant cost difference in my opinion plus the additional value your Rivian will lose while you wait.

May want to wait for 2025, because the T3 is due for MY2025?

Also, the 2023 model will charge faster on an 80 amp charger than the '24 model. The '23 has dual on board chargers to accommodate the FCSP, while the '24 has a single on-board charger.

They removed the dual chargers in 24, no more 80 amp charging. Also pro power is a paid option no longer bundled with lariat

Get the 23!

Look at the window sticker to confirm it has NO heated steering wheel removal credit, if so then it was built with it, but it's actually a non-issues if not built with it as the feature is delayed but coming soon.

And no one is going to want that first model year. IF Ford can make '25 happen. With the pull back in their spending and the battery issues from SK - there is nothing I would believe today that Ford will make the '25 date.

That's what they announced, I doubt they hit that target. The way the EV demand has slowed and the fact really no one hits their original marketed "target". My guess is whatever they call the codename "T3" wont make it until Model year 2026.

I'd go for it. Get the 2023 ER, the incentives are pretty sweet right now.

If you qualify for the tax credit and you’re getting the $7,500 customer cash, $15,000 off is a sweet deal that you may never see again. I personally don’t think a heat pump is worth $15,000.

Also, since no one has asked, why are you wanting to dump your Rivian? They seem like awesome trucks.

Well per one "celebrity" it seems they now have a mind of their own, however ,that will likely be proven driver control issue.

Which celebrity said that?
