My truck has been sitting on 4.0.22326 since the day it was purchased. How do i take advanatge of the more recently software updates? My truck continues to tell me i am "up to date" but there are clearly new versions being released. I have counted at least 5 going up to 4.2.3

You cannot force anything. If you're using features like Connected Navigation, then your modem is working. If you've owned it for 9 months and got no updates, then I'd contact your dealer. If it's 3 months, then you're fine. And the number you posted is for Sync, not all your modules. Go into FordPass, click on Features and Settings, then Software Updates. Recent Changes shows your last update.

Your truck will show "up to date" until Ford pushes the update. There is no way to force an OTA.

How to force software update
Show up at your dealership with a credit card and a good book. There’s unfortunately no way to force it without dealership tools like FDRS.

The easiest thing to do is ignore all the talk of everybody except you getting updates.
Then, be happy when you finally get one.
I'll say, I can't say a single update has been memorable after the fact.

Only way to force it is to buy a cable and Fdrs for a few days and update it yourself. Not worth the cost to me honestly.

This is the best advice. Ford rolls out updates in groups of VINs. I didn't get updates for 5 months, now I'm in the process of getting a series of updates over the past week. It happens when Ford processes the group your VIN is in unless you pay for FDRS and do it yourself (or pay the dealer to do it). You get them when you get them.

Don't worry - be happy - drive your Lightning.

Where can the cable and FDRS be purchased from?
Googling FDRS will show you the nearly $1,000 annual subscription ($50 for 2 days), and you can find the adapter needed which is over $500. Plus you need about $160 worth of power supplies.

As much as I love the concept of OTA rollouts, I admittedly miss the days when updates would just be posted on a side and you’d update via a flash drive.

Does that 4.0 update apply to the trucks with the big screen only? Because I can't find any software on my smaller screen that has a 4.o update number.

It seems like everyone posting pic of thier screen with update problems have the big screen. Do these updates not apply to the small screen? BTW, I had my truck for 3 months now and haven't had an update. Should I have recieved one already?

I got my truck end of June 2023 and have gotten no updates. It seems that the only 2023 models that have gotten updates are from deliveries very early in the year, maybe less than the first quarter. This is really annoying for us 2023 model years, but you're not alone.

Maybe wish for for a Christmas miracle?
