2022 F150 Lightning
I was looking around and noticed the following updates that might get release soon…

2022- 2023 MY F150 Lightning
(IPMA, PSCM)
FPU 7.0.0
Software Update 7.0.0
This Ford BlueCruise* 1.4 brings the best hands-free highway driving performance yet to keep you
hands-free longer, along with the latest features - Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning.
New Features:
• Lane Change Assist: allows you to use the turn signal switch to indicate a desired lane
change, which the system will perform when the path is clear. It will also suggest a lane change in
slower-moving traffic.
• In-Lane Repositioning: can help provide more space by subtly shifting away from vehicles in
adjacent lanes, giving you a little extra room when you need it.
• More hands-free highway time: In our internal testing, BlueCruise 1.4 stayed engaged in
hands-free mode for an average of 13 times longer than BlueCruise 1.0 thanks to better handling in
curves and narrow lanes.
• One button activation: On the road activation of BlueCruise just got easier. Simply press the
Adaptive Cruise Control button on your steering wheel to activate BlueCruise while in a Blue Zone. No
need to also press the Lane Assist button on the steering wheel.
• To manage your BlueCruise settings, go to your in-vehicle Driver Assistance screen."
Software updates are designed to help make your vehicle better over time.
*Available feature. BlueCruise requires a Connected Service plan, FordPass® App, and modem
activation. Equipped Ford vehicles come with either a 90-day trial or a 3-year Connected Service plan,
after which purchase is required. See ford.com/bluecruise for more details. BlueCruise driver-assist
features are supplemental and do not replace safe driving or driver’s attention, judgment and need
to control the vehicle. Only remove hands in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be
prepared to resume control. See Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.
2022 - 2023 MY F150 Lightning
(SYNC)
FPU 7.0.2
Software Update 7.0.2
Pre-Collision Assist is now more capable and new feature configuration options are available.
Pre-Collision Assist can now offer protection in even more scenarios:
• If equipped, your Pre-Collision Assist system has been enhanced with Intersection Assist has been
updated to v2.0.
The system can now help avoid potential collisions with pedestrians entering the path of the vehicle
from the passenger side as the vehicle is turning.
• Vehicles which did not have Intersection Assist 1.0 will also gain protection from oncoming vehicles
during turns across traffic
Vehicles with Ford BlueCruise now have the ability to configure their experience.
• Vehicles equipped with BlueCruise now have the ability to turn the new features On or Off via
sliders in the SYNC screen. To configure your settings, navigate to Driver Assistance in the in-vehicle
screen, toggle the sliders for Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning under the Adaptive Cruise
Control menu.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Predictive Speed Assist:
• When Predictive Speed Assist is active, the ACC system will now temporarily adjust the vehicle
speed in advance of curves and will display a road geometry indicator in the instrument cluster
display explaining the reason for the speed adjustment.
• Predictive Speed Assist will now adjust the vehicle speed to the applicable speed limit in advance of
speed limit signs.
• The In-vehicle Driver Assistance screen will now show a Predictive Speed Assist slider instead of the
Speed Sign Recognition slider. To activate Predictive Speed Assist, push the slider to the right.

Yes, BlueCruise 1.4 will be released SOON. SOON has different meanings in different cultures. In the Ford culture, SOON was supposed to be last summer for the Mach-E, then later in the fall. Due to a problem (bricked a few cars) in mid-December, updates were halted. Then, Lightnings got the recall update for drive modes. Now, updates have slowly resumed for some (got an update on 1/28 for the Lightning, Mach-E has been quiet since 12/12).

It is POSSIBLE that we will see 1.4 SOON. Just depends what season SOON happens in...

Rick eludes to it - one of the best ways to know what is coming and the features and or problems and delays it will have it, go lurk on macheforum.com. They get everything a bit before we do.

7.0.2 is interesting. That I hadn't heard about it. It seems to improve the predictive speed assist which is terrible right now, so that looks promising.

You are missing one clause for most MY23 Lightning owners that have never once received an update.

Any sign of this in FDRS yet? Seems like the IPMA PSCM update would be the one we did already and perhaps there’s another APIM update with some as built config programming changes to activate things in the UI?

Soon means once most of us are at the end of our 3 year free trial…
I picked up the truck in July 22, so next year will be time to renew or not…

Too bad we can’t update without the software and OBD connection. I remember for SYNC 3 you just needed a large USB drive.

As someone who has to drive 2,300 miles in June, it would be awfully nice to get 7.0.2 prior to leaving. Just got 6.4.0 so hey, maybe it'll be possible!

Not that I know of. Soon as something comes out and I find out, I report it everywhere.
