Found this today. Didn't recall reading it prior, nor did a search pull it up. This would really tick me off.

Can I charge at a 350-kilowatt (kW) charge station?
Yes you can.

When using Electrify America (EA) Direct Current (DC) fast chargers, be aware of the following:

Some EA DC fast chargers can deliver up to 350kW of power.
Your 2024 F-150 Lightning will accept up to 120kW.
The 2023 and prior model year F-150 Lightning trucks accept up to 150kW
.
That sounds about right. On a recent trip to St Augustine, FL from Pensacola we used the EA 350KW stations and they averaged about 149KW. Worked great with no problems. I assume that the Tesla SC stations will charge at the same rate.

I get the impression that Ford has simply lowered the quoted maximum without changing anything about the vehicle or its battery. After all, the previous "maximum" was 150 but some have reported getting better than that, at least for part of the charging cycle.

They may just be under-promising more than before, possibly to make themselves look better at over-delivering.

On the same page the previous FAQ to this one is also interesting:

How fast can the F-150 Lightning charge?

Using a 150-kilowatt (kW)+ Direct Current (DC) fast charger:
  • The standard-range 98kWh battery can charge from 15-80% in about 36 minutes.*
  • The extended-range 131kWh battery can charge from 15-80% in about 41 minutes.*
I believe previous MY 15-80% charge time for SR was listed as 44 minutes. This makes me wonder if Ford completely revamped the charging curve for MY24’s with lower peaks, but longer sustained high charge rates.

Time will tell - we’re still waiting for the first reported delivery of a MY24 Lightning…

Based on the Magic Docks, they will not. Will be interesting to see.

Yep it differs slightly from the previous guidance and I too think they tweaked the charge curve.

I’ve used an EA charge a couple times, 150 or 350 and the highest rate I’ve achieved is 112kw.

I hit 195kw yesterday at the EA station in Indiana....right before the truck was like "nope" and shut it down.

Longest sustainable rate I have ever had was 182-185kw at the new EA stations at Meijer's in Kankakee IL and Sams Club in Rockford IL.

Typically, I am low 170s like other on here. I have a 2022 ER.

When you say shut it down, you had to restart your session or it just peaked and then throttled back down?

Sorry, I mean the charging session stopped completely. I chose to go to the charger next to it. I have it sort of on video if interested.
