FAQ since everybody has questions.

**2023 F150 Lightning Lariat ER**

- **MSRP:** $79,785
- **Selling Price:** $69,965
- **Rebates:** $13,250
- **POS Tax credit:** $7,500
- **Selling price after rebates and credits:** $49,215
- **Balloon Loan with FNYCU (administered by AFG):** $242/month

**WTF is this deal?**

- Easy. Dealership advertised discount online and they honored it. Everything else is me stacking rebates.

**WTF is $13,250 in rebates?**

- $7,500 Rebate Cash from Ford
- $2,750 AZXD Plan Rebate Cash for using X-Plan
- $2,000 Private Offer sent to me via email from Ford
- $1,000 Rebate Cash for my local zip code (YMMV on this). Ask dealer to check on Smart Vincent.

**WTF is a Balloon Loan?**

- It's sort of like a lease but you own the car. You can either choose to return the car or buy it out at the residual price at the end of the term. A few CUs in the country do this program. I used First New York FCU. I did this because I am allowed to return the vehicle at the residual price ($50k) and all I am paying is interest for 2 years. This is only to protect myself againt any further depreciation.

**I don't believe you, show me the sheet.**

- Here you go

The $7500 POS rebate is show as a down payment. Thats how that credit is applied.

**$5597 in TAXES HOLY SHIT??**

- Yea I live in NY, thanks.

The additional rebates are the real selling point here. The discount on the truck seems to be pretty standard on '23s, plus the $7,500 retail cash from Ford, but an additional almost $6,000 makes a big difference. Pretty darn good deal in my book, nice job!

Congrats but I don't see the great deal. You are renting a truck for 24 months for just over eleven grand. Not bad. If you want to keep it you gotta buy a used truck for fifty grand. A gamble.
BTY my tax on it would be over $6,700.

I dont have to buy anything, I can just return the truck at the end of the term. If Private Marktet values hold up for ER, it might lower my total cost of ownership(Wholesale prices dont differentiate between SR and ER)

Yes the X plan $2750 rebate and $3000 Private offer+local rebate is what makes the deal. The other numbers are par for the course.

Not seeing the same par on my course. The initial 10k of MSRP is above what I see. Best I've seen is 5ish and even that is not consistent.

Love my Lariat! best vehicle I've ever owned and at almost 70 years old I've owned a lot. Also the most fun vehicle to drive I've ever owned including any of my 3 Corvetts (a '65, '78, and a brand new '85). and it will smoke any of them!

... and close on the C8, too ...

I had other dealers at $7, $7.5 in NY. Maguire has $9820 listed on the website.

I'm in the process of buying a 2023 Lariat now. Just waiting it to arrive from transport. I'd drive to NY for that extra $10k savings though. If that deal is good for out state residents, I'd love to hear more.

Somebody else PMd me saying they may have secured a similar discount, will wait for them to post.

Signed the paperwork today, driving 200 miles this weekend to pick up hopefully. The 10k discount is real.

I thought you can't take the X-Plan rebate unless you take X-Plan pricing. X-Plan is a predefined sales price based on MSRP, not dealers selling price. If it all worked out for you, congratulations.

How does one go about securing a private offer from Ford?

Negative. There is an X-Plan rebate just for 23 Lightnings till 4/2/2024. Your dealer has access to the document. I have a copy of the document as well but I am not gonna do the dealers work for you.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I appreciate all of the info on this site. I’m hoping to making the plunge myself, however all the dealers I’ve spoken with have refused to budge and are adamant on the idea you can combine a dealer discount with the 2 X Plan rebates. Do you or anyone else who has had luck have any tips or suggestions on how to counter this? Thanks for your time and help!
