Although I haven't seen the contract the deal between Ford and Tesla surely requires 'Tesla to spend their own money to upgrade the V2 chargers. It's not like we are using these chargers for free.
Right but they are business people, so smart business would be to wait to see where you are getting tax dollars first so you donā€™t invest your money where ā€œthe manā€ is willing to pay.

Also keep in mind whatever the actually terms of Ford and Teslaā€™s agreement, it likely has benchmarks and timelines. I doubt any of them were written in our favor as we were the ones to gain. Likely it is something like invest $$$ into upgrading existing sites within x-years, and I bet you it was not within the first year as permitting and equipment can take 18-24 months.

Well I guess we have glossed over the fact that he fired his entire supercharger crew over a temper tantrum.

Have you thought Musk fired them because they still did not have a true V4 site open, or because the were not focused on upgrading the V2 sitesšŸ˜±

Thatā€™s the joy of being a keyboard warrior, we will never know why Supreme Leader Musk actually had his panties in a bunch and fired them., only what has been leaked. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I have used my Tesla adapter over a dozen times at over half a dozen different Superchargers. The cord has been a little short at times but that never prevented me from charging. Most of the time I could pull up close enough to the charger that the cord length was a non-issue.

At the moment I donā€™t see any real value in having a NACS extension cord and I definitely donā€™t want to carry a thick, heavy extension cord around in my truck.

Oh, come on. Itā€™s a truck, made for hauling heavy stuff. šŸ˜Š

Iā€™m already carrying low voltage and high voltage NACS adapters, a NEMA 14-50 charger, WeatherTech all around sun screens, an inflatable bed with air pump for the rear seat, a Mini-C Keurig coffee maker, a 50 foot 15 amp extension cord, a mini air compressor for the tires, a receiver hitch with ball, a self inflating life vest, a package of 24 water bottles and an umbrella and thatā€™s before I throw in my luggage and my momā€™s and her husbandā€™s walkers plus all merchandise when I take them on their bi-monthly trip to Walmart. Forgive me if I donā€™t feel my Lightning is underutilized if I donā€™t throw a high voltage NACS extension cord in there.

I've used mine a few times. I've already encountered an issue on vacation where an extension would have helped. Pulled up to a tesla station that wasn't full, but the cars were charging every other stall. Luckily the guy on the end where I pulled in offered to move to another spot. Nobody would have had to move if I had that extension cord, and I wouldn't be blocking 2 stalls either.

I've used 2 Super Charges, charged 3 times at them. 2 of those times there was plenty of open spots, so no problem aligning the truck to charge. The last time there was a line, and there were a couple opportunities where I should have been able to charge, but couldn't because there would have been no way to get my truck close enough to the dispenser to reach. Out of the 8 chargers, only 4 of them were really accessible to an F150 without blocking more than one spot, which isn't an option when all 8 are constantly in full use. Even a small extension cable with the right shape would easily fit beneath the back seat or in the funk and add only a little weight. Would be nice if @A2ZEV would design an adapter that integrated a 3-4ft tail designed to lay over the hood. If that were maybe only $50 more than the regular adapter, I could see them selling more than enough to make it worth it.

I also don't have huge problems with NACS adapters, except sometimes I don't park as close as needed from the first attempt.

But as soon as extension cord will available, I will start yo think about transferring port to the right side.
