Cool idea... hopefully future iterations will be able to get to 48A (60A Breaker). This would be good for PHEVs and other smaller battery vehicles or in regions not plagued with massive TOU swings.

4 breaker slots kinds sucks too.

the interview with EATON staffs shows that they are, yes, working on a 'larger' EVSE BREAKER set, for 48amp charging... too

I like this idea for at-home charging... and, like always, a mobile EVSE is likely something we'll all continue to carry in our vehicles...

I had bought the following during the Amazon Prime days for $120 CDN:

Installed it at the cottage and it has been amazing. I was blowing my 40amp bussman fuses all the time - it would cost me $20 each time I had to replace one and over the summer I replaced them 3x.

I don't know why that was happening since my charger was setup at 32amps. So I installed this a few weeks ago and no issues. Plus it also gives me access to a 30-amp RV outlet as well as a GFCI protected 20-amp outlet.

When thinking of installing a 60-amp "continuous load" EV charging circuit breaker, let's remember to also check and (likely) upgrade the circuit wire gauge.

It looks to me like the supplied charging cable connects directly to the breaker. There is no “circuit wire.”

Anyone see a price on it yet? It looks like a decent option if you can run your charge cable directly from a subpanel and can save a bit of cash. Doesn't seem to be a NACs option yet but I suppose the different amperage variants and NACS options will show up in the coming months.

Not an option for me in my current house but perhaps the next.

A solution in search of a problem.
It combines the breaker and EVSE together in your subpanel.
A great idea, especially if you already have a subpanel in your garage.
Still good if you do not, of course not so much if it costs much more than a breaker + EVSE.

Maybe it will survive as a new construction option? Ultimately, price will determine it's fate.

Not exactly, it can work if your panel is within 25 feet of your vehicle charge port.
But it can also work in your panel in your basement, with the junction box option.
I would consider it (depending on price) even if adding a subpanel where there isn't one already.
However, you may be right on the demand, which is going to be largely influenced by the price.
