My phone as a key stopped working

I am out of town and went to use my phone as a key - like always - and my phone is not allowing me to start my car. Since I’m out of town I do not have my FOB.

the ford pass app is not working either.

I can connect to the car via Bluetooth and use CarPlay. I have access to the screen and settings.

my truck says my wi-fi is shut down to save battery.

the FordPass app says I cannot control any of the functions until I start the car!!!!

any ideas? Could it be a low battery issue? Can a ford dealer start my car. It’s Sunday night and nothing is open.

or will I have to have roadside assistance tow my car 80 miles home so I can use my FOB.

Did you save your back up start code & door unlock code on your phone as a text note?

Have you rebooted your phone?

I do find the Fordpass sluggish to load vehicle screen avatar, and we are discussing a rash of missing data on the CSP list server.

I wonder if a global outage is beginning?

Unless you get the message “No key detected”, it’s not a PAAK issue. Having a fob wouldn’t help. Call roadside assistance.

Seems fine here. Something funky going on in the northeast?
Not that I'm aware of... I went out with phone to my garage, PAAK allowed me to start the truck

Right. I don’t think the OP has a PAAK problem since he didn’t mention a “No key detected” message. Something is amiss with his truck.

If your LVB is to weak to engage the HVB contactors, the tow truck might be able to jump your truck.

As others have said, try rebooting your phone if you already haven't.

PAAK stopped working for both my wife and I on both our vehicles after FordPass updated to the latest version. Rebooting our phones took care of the issue.

Also, haven't you set up your backup start code?

not to be an ass but have u tried restarting ur phone?
no question too stupid but yes, I tried restarting it many times both hard restart and soft restart and tried toggling Bluetooth on and off Wi-Fi on and off the gamit. I have had instances where my phone doesn’t work, but the Ford app does. This time no joy..

I had a backup passcode, but somehow it got messed up.

Other online research said the battery might be low and that could be the issue. Also mentioned a way of resetting the vehicle.

Power Cycle the Truck: Once you get into the truck, you can try to power cycle it by pressing the start button and fully rebooting the vehicle systems, which can sometimes restore the connection.

it was dark cold and late, and I could get a place to stay, so I decided to pack it in the morning in the daylight when Ford would be open.

But you will bet when I get this solved I will make sure my backup password is always working.

Lucky to have PAAK, us lower end users don’t have that option, stuck carrying fob everywhere.

Always carry the fob!

Silly because Tesla allowed PAAK on all models and trims?!
