I hope I'm wrong and you're right, but I have no confidence that things will get better now.
I agree with you that the rate of improvement of EV infrastructure is likely to go down, maybe to near zero, for a while. I bought a Lightning not long ago because I thought that what has happened would probably happen, and I wanted to get such a vehicle while I could.

Resale value? Forget it (insert cliché about cold dead hands). A recession is likely in the near future for reasons not to be discussed here (politics are involved), and low fuel and maintenance costs will be helpful in surviving comfortably. There are enough chargers in our area to get around (living in our state has some advantages to go along with the taxes!) and most of us primarily charge at home anyway. Admittedly, things will get worse for us if Elon decides to cut off our Supercharger access, but many of us got by without that for years (3 years in my case, including 1000+ mile road trips powered mostly by EA :p ).

I have many regrets, but having bought a Lightning is not one of them. I hope and expect that you'll continue to love your truck too.

Yes, though I've only seen it be a bit higher rather than way higher. I haven't been to a large number of chargers lately, though. Gosh darned gainful employment is getting in the way of road trips.

Maybe it was just the ones at Tejon Ranch Outlets in California. $.60 per kwh!

For the record I don't care what the Tesla cost because when I need to charge on a trip I need to charge and get moving, not show up, hope 1 of the 4 are working and not blocked by slow charging Bolts.

Travel in the south and not CA and you may see the difference for sure

Sixty cents is about what I've been super-paying. Our local Electrocute America stations seem to be upwards of fifty cents, so I count that as close. Maybe other 3rd party stations are better than those.

@JRT, I hear you. We're sort of spoiled here with more chargers (and even more being installed recently -- all of which we really need), and of course we pay in other ways. Hope your access gets better...somehow.

The location in west El Paso was cheaper than the nearest EA station (on the east side of the city). Will be interesting to see what GM/Pilot charge when they open their location at the border. Competition is increasing --> good for consumers.

Not soon enough!!
The Pilot ones have been seemingly ready to go for months now. Tesla just broke ground on theirs a few weeks ago, likely next year for those. I'm praying Pilot/GM goes on line by the end of the year.
