Bought the @LASFIT 8 pod switchback rock light kit during Black Friday and finally got a chance to take some pictures. The kit I got is here:

https://www.lasfit.com/products/off-road-switchback-led-rock-lights?variant=43802368180471

Looks like they are on sale now, pretty great price. I didn't take pictures of the install but I ended up putting 2 per wheel well. I am not fully satisfied with my placement, I think it doesn't throw enough light on the ground but I guess what is done is done. At first I wanted to put one in each wheel well and then one in front, in back and on each side, maybe mounted to the frame so I could get really good coverage. But mounting to the frame on the sides was a no go due to the plastic skid plate thing that covers the batteries beneath. And I couldn't find a really good place to mount a single one in front and back. So I opted to go with the 2 per wheel. Looks nice but maybe not super practical, time will tell. But overall these pods feel really solid. These have a switch for white and for amber. I didn't use the supplied button on the harness, instead I cut the harness and wired it to my SwitchPros so i have one button for white and one for Amber.

People will definitely see you coming at night
Maybe I'm wrong, but I understood the intent was for off road driving where being able to see the rocks is very useful. I would not use something like that on pavement.

Correct... my bad, i assumed everyone knew what rock lights were. For those who don't:

I don't intend to use them on the road. Well... maybe if I really need that visibility in the Costco parking lot, but even then it probably wouldn't prevent an accident

You can count me as one of the ones that initially assumed these were just bling for the road -- in my area I've seen a lot of underlighting on trucks for looks only. Never knew they could serve a purpose for off road. Thanks the reeducation. Very cool mod, too!

I looked at your post carefully, as well as the link, as I didn't know they existed.

But mounting to the frame on the sides was a no go due to the plastic skid plate thing that covers the batteries beneath.
Considering them mounted to the bottom of my PRO's running boards to give me the equal of zone lighting, if I get them energized by the backup lights ...
Thanks for the post.

I was considering something similar the other day, except if like to wire mine into the door opening light circuit to get better visibility when getting in and out at night. The dog needs to use one of those portable steps to get in and out so the extra lighting may help

If you guys want to tap into the zone lighting using the connector for the running board light, you may want to have a look at this video, it is simple and lower cost...
