Hi y’all, I’ve read through some other threads and I’m starting to narrow this issue to a 12V problem. 2023 Lariat, auto start will not work

my auto start will work if I have been driving for about 30+ minutes. IF I try it right after I exit the truck. Wait 20 minutes, it won’t work.

I did all the tricks, shut all the doors, tailgate, frunk. Changed the settings in the Sync. Nothing seems to help.

Called Ford tech, they can’t help. Called the dealership and the only thing I can do is go leave the truck with them, a pain because they’re not near my home or work.

so, if I am thinking this may be a 12V issue. Can I take my truck to the auto parts store, have them test it, and install a new one? Are the 12V batteries for this truck special in any way?

thanks for your thoughts.

After 30 minutes does the Lock / Unlock still work from the Ford Pass app?

Wonder if all communication is lost or just remote climate.

The 12v battery is common, though Advanced Auto, web-store parts picker is funky about locating it, it's worth a shot to have them check it out and replace if weak.

Before doing this, I'd suspend any automatic updates if you have any pending install, wait 30 minutes after last shut down, then disconnect the 12 v negative lead, leave off for 30 minutes, then reconnect. Hopefully this reboots all systems and your TCU & Bluetooth modules work better.

If they don't, the battery may be weak, you should already be getting alerts about that condition, a replacement might be in order, or there are other problems that only a Ford technician can get resolved.

Do you have departure schedule on? This screwed with remote climate. So turn it off, turn truck on and off. Try it again. This worked for me.

I began having the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Today, I updated FordPass to the new version and regained the remote connectivity. Causation? Correlation? I don’t know. But at least the remote start/climate control works again.[UPDATE: It was a fluke. I’m right back to finding that the remote climate and remote start features don’t work anymore. I’ve changed nothing with home WiFi, my phone’s Bluetooth, parking location, charging practices. What’s up?]

It sounds like Bluetooth functions are not affected but Climate start requires connectivity to cellular or WIFI. Climate start will not work in some of my locations due to simple lack of Cellular/WIFI connectivity.

If you are sure it isn't a connectivity problem (poor cellular or no WIFI connectivity) then it sounds like a weak 12v battery. I put an inexpensive battery monitor on the truck so I could watch it and if the 12v gets weak, it only takes a few hours to drop into deep sleep mode, shutting off the modem.

Any dealer or reputable autoshop can test the battery capacity.
