This is the gist of it. He's on your side so he can use the government for his own purposes. I have never uttered a sentence approaching this sentiment.
I feel you are inferring I am saying something I did not... but all good. Its not germane to the topic, and I'm not worried about it

Just received this email from Wisconsin DOT. As we knew already.... to the courts it goes.

Selfishly...I would love to see Elon get $5 billion to build out superchargers...he has done more with government funding at SpaceX than NASA can even dream of....also doesn't mean he is altruistic or good for democracy...but maybe he will be 🤷‍♂️...if he was given $5 billion, every single interstate would have a supercharger every 80-100 miles.

I think if your government continues on its current path, whether or not there is federal funding for EV chargers will be the least of your worries.

Captain Buzzkill with the cold shower...my grandfather fought in WWII...survived the Bataan Death March and lived through 3.5 years in a Japanese prison camp...what kept him alive was his unwavering belief in America and our democracy...I continually hope our democracy can provide what he dreamt of during periods of starvation, dehydration and imprisonment...sadly it seems to get further each year...

What were we talking about again? Oh yes, NEVI...

Is NEVI a boondoggle? Maybe. It's hard to take the government at it's word though when it's most influential advisor has interests in direct opposition to the American public.

I would love to say it isn’t. I think the intent is honest. My concern is the long drawn out process others mentioned. In Oregon we just got our 2022 payment to start construction on round 1, so in theory we are 2 years behind in payments. So now those two years are frozen. 🤷‍♂️

In addition to the slowness, I am concerned with the number of charging operators or “players”. While competition is good, but some that are getting this contract appears to be more of a start up, or new to a region. So I do have concerns that these “new” operators will be able to maintain the uptime we need. Would suck to spend those millions just to have an out of order sign. 🤔

That math ain’t matching…balance budget constitutional amendment!!!
Exactly, we closed FY 2024 on 9/30/2024 with 1.833 trillion dollar deficit, spending cuts and revenue optimization is sorely needed. DIG DEEP FOLKS!

Let’s hope every 50 or so miles. Tesla’s like the needle dry humping the E….🤣😂

(Seriously about the 50 part as 100 could be a lot and still add to range anxiety)
I was thinking 50...but didn't want to sound greedy...also...there are stretches of I-90 in Montana that don't have a town every 50 miles...but the rests stops would be prime for a supercharger.

I always thought that would be a prime location. Already have bathrooms, some have food trucks, some have vending machines, and you can get out and wonder around a bit. And best of all the locals already own it so rent should be cheap. 🥳

There’s actually a law prohibiting commercial vendors at interstate rest areas.
