Yes, General Motors is big on ADVERTISING & MARKETINGI thought it was really interesting that Chevy chose to have there Blazer EV SS as the Dayton 500 series pace car and the Corvette Stingray as pace car for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series. I'm assuming the decision was no accident.
Good point. GM is leaning into advertising their EV lineup. It want so much that they advertised. Its the fact that they choose to use the Blazer EV in the Cup race, highest profile, and the Vet for the 2nd tier.
The Nascar fans that I personally know, are going to be a tough sell.If it can get the nascar fans on board with ev’s that would be kinda huge. We need more infrastructure. Only way to get it is convince the skeptics
Right where it belongs.Vet for the 2nd tier.
I haven’t seen anything exceptional about the lightning to believe it’s better than the Silverado ev. The lightning while it drives nice and it quiet ,it has a lot of software issues, and updates often don’t come or get hung up . The body panel fitment is a joke for such an expensive vehicle , the expensive center bar lights leak water , just so many quality issues that shouldn’t be present on a 60-94k sticker truck with such a small battery. They seem to have way to many HV battery failures especially module 9 , repair times can be several weeks to months . In comparison my rav4 primes 18.5 kw battery I’ve been on the forums 2.5 yrs and not a single reported high voltage battery failure and they’ve been out longer than the lightings and those battery’s get cycled a lot harder full cycled daily . Sales number there’s a lot more of them on the road as well.Good point. GM is leaning into advertising their EV lineup.
They have a lot riding on getting volume sales with the Blazer EV, and the other EV models. Not as much riding on the Corvette sales.
Of course, IMHO the Ford Lightning is better than the GM EV pickup, but that really is never the final answer. Advertising sells. Some people will be swayed to buy GM EVs because of this type of marketing.

There’s been no reported degradation. , or issues with them . The only issue they have in salt states is the hv motor connector at the 55 hp AWD rear motor . I own both a lightning and rav4 and I love the lighting but I trust the rav4 a lot more . I wouldn’t even consider road tripping the Ford w its poor battery range in the winter . It’s a local vehicle only . Gms trucks you can road trip all day 100 miles of range added in 10 minutes is where the lightning should have been for 2024/25. They have 400 -440 actual highway range miles . In the winter I bet I barely get 130 highway miles w my SR lightning . Love my lightning and it wasn’t nearly the money , but I’m not nieve to think it’s better than then GM trucks
Then maybe they shouldn't have cut Carplay / AA from their vehicles!Good point. GM is leaning into advertising their EV lineup.

What is the payload again in the Chevy? Like is it even over 1000 lbs?I haven’t seen anything exceptional about the lightning to believe it’s better than the Silverado ev.
This is a half ton tpersonal use truck . It’s not an HD , the most ppl usually carry is some groceries and maybe tow a small trailer it’s not like you can carry anything big in the 5ft bed anyway . If I am going to load it up, I’d take the heavier duty GM w its 8 lug wheels and HD brakes irreguardless of the numbers those components are much beefier beyond the differences in curb weightsWhat is the payload again in the Chevy? Tesla owner here. No?Yes, General Motors is big on ADVERTISING & MARKETING
Don't have to have the best product, if you advertise it really well. And if your product is decent, then you will do well.
If you are a Tesla fan, seeing this kind of of marketing may make you wish Tesla did at least SOME advertising.
No an F350/lightning and a RAV4 prime thanks never owned and will never own a Tesla , I’m a realist I call it how I see t, my 11 F350 is an amazing truck , Thirsty yes but will run and run and run w little to no issues . Ford quality has been dropping since 2014 -16 and hasn’t stopped .Tesla owner here. No?![]()
