Right at 12k. We have towed up to 18k. The ammonia tanks get towed only short distances (they have SMV signs and are *only* supposed to go 30 mph) of 2-5 miles. Its hard to see, but that's a dampered "cushion" hitch to reduce the push/pull that occurs when towing these weights on farm roads that have pot holes etc.
Biggest danger IMO is that over distance, the motors would overheat at these loads. We are traveling slow and short distances. My brother says it performs better than his Silverado 2500 HD, in terms of smooth starts. Since the Lighting weighs as much or more than the Chevy, I'd guess it controls the weight just as well also.
Note the HD F-150 rims with more aggressive tires. Did that due to snow/Ice buildup in winter.
