Mine is a dealer ordered that I have a deposit on. I called the dealer Friday and he said it was built just waiting to get picked up but the window sticker had not changed and the production status had not changed either. Yesterday I checked the status and the in production date had changed to 11/3 and the sticker had some codes on the bottom left like “ramp one / CA46” and “convoy”.

We have seen a few vehicles recently move from built to shipping fairly quickly, but the average wait seems to be in the 7-14 day range. There are a few that have been languishing for quite a bit longer, perhaps because they get pulled for random production QC or perhaps a problem was detected... we don't really know why. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for a fast turn-around on shipping!

I imagine that managing the logistics of shipping Lightnings out of Dearborn MI has been one of the most stressful jobs on the planet for the last two months. There was a glut of thousands of built trucks in various lots around the Rogue plant that apparently had issues that arose due to re-tooling of the production line through July 2023 to accommodate a major increase in production throughput. I would love to know that status of the remaining backlog...

Does the "In Production" date correspond to the Module population on the Motorcraftservice.com "Asbuilt" site, or does "In Production" mark the start of the assembly (which would presumably precede the population of Modules?) I believe I checked all of the VINs on Motorcraftservice.com at about 11:30 PM on the 5th, and that one had not yet populated yet. I am east coast, so I guess it might have populated as late as 12:59 AM Eastern and still have an "In Production" value of Nov. 05 based on Central time, or, alternatively, module going live trails the "In Production" flag by a few hours...

The ~appearance~ of the In Production date is delayed to the day after the truck actually ran down the line, we see the telltales of production via the service code database revealing the start of code loading, some time today we will see the tear tag as an indication the build is substantially complete, baring QC testings and final trim outs like spray in liner.

The slacker might have a malfunctioning module, once that's fixed it will populate.
