2022 Lightning (Ordered 6/19, delivered 10/28/22)
I have a second very late Lightning reservation (early November) and a first 10 minute Silverado EV reservation. I was hoping that I would be late enough on the Lightning to get a second gen, but I could be wrong. I just wanted to keep, all options for a normal looking and acting pickup truck.

Taking time out of the equation I prefer the looks and feel of the Ford over the Silverado. The only reason the Silverado appeals to me is the range and charging speed.

I’m definitely going to take delivery on the Lightning whenever that shall be. If the Silverado is what they say, I can always punt the Lightning or not.
I’ve been daily driving my Porsche Taycan for a year without issue. Has about a 250mi range. All the anxiety about how far…how long to charge has been unfounded for me personally. Yes you have to think a little harder about longer trips but we are on the front side of this technology and it’s only going to get better. We are experiencing the bumps of being early adopters. We truly are driving the future.

Agreed..unless you are willing to fork over $105k...the first Silverado EV(non 1st edition) is 2yrs away. That's with no delay. A lot can happen between now and then and I see no downside to taking delivery of the Lightning and deciding in summer 2024 what to do.

The car market(esp EVs) is nuts. Now you have to reserve a year or more in advance..plan out what might possibly happen or what your needs may be 2yrs into the future.

I don’t disagree. Right now, I have reserved an RST, but would likely go for the work truck if it could be configured like an XLT. That said, my first choice is my expected 2022 Lariat without any problems!

I put a reservation on an EV Silverado.
I like the Silverado too. If it was available now I might have to jump ship on my ford fixation. Too far out in time for me though.

On a scale of 1-5 how pissed are my fellow 5/23ers going to be when we start seeing 5/30 deliveries? I’ll go first, 5!

There will be some, for sure. My hope is that it's related to combining trucks onto hauling trucks. I'll be a 15/5 if/when we see June dates shipping...

Spoke to a nice ford person via chat and they said no chip hold... Sent off-site... Waiting for final approval... Have no idea what that means .. but there are at least 2 lightnings on long island...

sweet! Didn’t they tell you earlier this week it was on hold for chips?
If so, then maybe they’re starting to move through all the holds for 5/23 week! (Cautiously optimistic)

Yep... Hopefully is a move in the right direction and not marketing telling support folks to stop giving away details... But I did ask twice .. and she confirmed.....
