So after seeing no updates on the Interwebs for weeks, I stopped by the dealership and asked “What’s up with my truck?” They gave me this (as well as a nifty Lightning brochure that’s sure to be a collectors item 🤣).

Looks like my Rapid Red Lariat was built on the 14th and is now sitting at the notorious “Ramp 51”. That’s more info than I’ve seen in two weeks.

Unless, of course, I’m reading this whole thing wrong…
Waiting on something to move her to BUILT status.

Nope reading that 100% correct.

Side note I'm following a Rapid Red one as well with the same position as yours and I was wondering what the chances are that its your's.... Just doubled Checked the VIN and it's not. Wildly enough wouldn't be the first time I found someone on these forums who purchased from my dealership though if it was.

Is Ramp 51 a holding area for trucks that are fully built, or trucks that are waiting for parts? Per the terrible screenshots from my SA, it looks like I'm at the same spot as @Slick68 since 6/16, even though I had a blend that was 7/15.

Both. Area 51 is a holding area. Trucks have been sent back, forward, and sat at Area 51.

It's Friday, and I'm not scheduled to "work" on Saturdays and Sundays. I guess I'll talk to ya'll on Monday.

Hopefully some of us get a surprise delivery over the weekend!

Who in hades do you think you are fooling? We know you'll be stalking the 7/11 thread all weekend. You will be all worried that someone will get their ride before you......

Anyone else going the wrong way?

I am no longer in shipped status. All wording on the website referring vehicle shipment is removed.

Order tracker also no longer says in transit…

Yep, per the chat yesterday I was back in production and no longer at ramp 51. My status on order track, or fords sites never changed though - have always been in production there.

Did you also purchase yours through Lexington Park Ford? I’m not sure how many they’re allocated but they told me they already delivered one to a lucky soul in Southern Maryland.

We need to all have some patience now.

I believe we are in the midst of a another transportation SNAFU not entirely Ford's fault.

They seem to be happening in waves. As far as concerns the Dearborn plants, Ford is also trying to churn out the remaining 2022 Ice F150s and get them shipped out. At this time outbound traffic is in one of those lulls.

East and West Bound Rail Lines are limited in Michigan and once they reach their destinations they must also make the long trip back to Dearborn with empty railcars. I am sure that Rail Labor is involved in "Slowdowns" to support their point of view during the current labor negotiations.

Railroads make more money on full railcars hauling goods from ports than they do for empty cars returning to factories so they defer to making the most money.

Over the road transportation is really not much better. They have the same problems with empty deadhead rigs having to drive back to Dearborn. Here in the Midwest there is a severe shortage of rigs. With the elevated price of diesel the remaining supply of drivers just cannot make money at the per mile rate they are being paid under old contracts. So many drivers just left the industry during the pandemic because driving is a hard life to live. Younger guys do not want that life and it takes time to train new ones. I used to drive. I know. And Car Haulers are a specialized breed of driver.

There really is no simple fix for getting our trucks to us quicker once built other than to just park them, stonewall us, and wait for a ride.

One solution I have been trying is to get my dealer to bypass the system and bring my truck back from Dearborn himself. According to them, they have the ability to do that here in Kentucky (300 mile radius from Dearborn ?) and they would be paid the destination charge. My truck is also now in "In-Production" limbo since 7/16. We are still awaiting the OK from my Regional Manager who is trying to get the OK from Ford Scheduling. But maybe this is just a "Shot-in-the-Dark"?

My financing clock is also ticking with a 30 day 2.89% lock at my CU until the end of August.

If my dealer allowed me, I’d take a flight out and drive the truck back quite frankly. It wouldn’t take more than one really long Saturday. ..

Unfortunately, there is no way for the Average Joe (or Josephine) to get a truck directly from the factory. We are limited by the chain of custody requirements (unless you hold a Ford approved dealer's license).

There are also days when I go shopping at Krogers to buy their week old milk or eggs and wish I could just drive out to the farm and get my eggs from underneath the hens or just milk that cow.
