Well mine is built.
Was Recently declined app access and then I got a notification it was allowed after a 2nd attempt; then checked on the build and it was built!
Woohoo! Now if I can just muster the finances to afford this and the house I just bought.

I'm still "In Production," but my truck was moved this morning from the mall parking lot where it has sat for the last 6 weeks. It's now sitting in an office parking lot. The odometer hasn't changed, so I guess they use a truck to move them, which... makes sense, in retrospect.

When did you pick up your truck?

I called Ford CS after I saw the last updated date change. They told me the truck was in Pearland Texas waiting to be unloaded. I texted my dealer to check if they were aware. A day passes and I texted again to try and get a response… truck is STILL waiting to be unloaded. I’ve been waiting since Jan 20. What’s a few more days at this point?

When did you pick up your truck?

I ended up passing on it. I found some used Lariat ERs locally for cheaper than a new XLT SR so I am going to go for that. I let the dealership have it and I guess they sold it already.

This evening while clearing out my typical load of junk email I noticed an email from my local Ford dealer advertising over $10K off F150s. So I had a look. Lo and behold, my truck is listed as “in stock” (it’s my VIN) boasting a sale price, and a dealership stock number.

My guess is it’s not really at the dealership yet and it’s just their local web person scrolling through the inbound stock and dressing up their web page. I clicked on a button labeled “get your best price” and filled out a short contact form that listed the VIN with my name, phone and email. I expect in the morning I’ll get a call and/or email asking me to come in for a chat and test drive. I doubt they will connect the dots with my name being associated with an order.

I also doubt I will be able to resist the urge to do a drive by the dealership in the morning just to make sure.

My hunch was correct, the truck was not yet here. I won’t bore you with all of the details, but I will tell you before I left the house for the dealership in the morning the internet sales office called me to ask if I was coming by to see the truck I was interested in. They confirmed by VIN that they had the truck there for me to see.

I did confirm before I left the house that the truck was in fact not there, however, I made a trip to the dealership anyway. When I got there, the sales manager, who was obviously embarrassed for what had transpired, was able to pull up the status for my truck on a map on his computer and show me that my truck was halfway through Pennsylvania on a truck on its way to Maryland. He indicated that it was not a normal process to truck new vehicles from Dearborn to Maryland and that they normally made the journey partway by train. I’ll guess Ford is playing some catch-up to clear out that shipping backlog of 15,000 lightnings.

I received a text from the dealership at about 7pm with a photo of my truck which had just been offloaded. I’ll pick it up this afternoon!

I reached out to my salesperson yesterday to see if I could get an update on my truck as well as confirm that they would be honoring the $7,500 incentive. They replied with the attached showing my truck is at ramp 59 and should be leaving there on 10/29 and arriving in SC on 11/4.

I In their initial response regarding the $7,500 I was told that no incentive currently existed and I was mistaken. I sent them a couple of screenshots of Lariat ERs on various dealers websites showing the $7,500 discount as well as the #11116 incentive code. Also told them that if they didn’t honor it I would be buying an ER from dealer stock elsewhere. Received a second email from them stating that after much digging there was an incentive and I would receive the full $7,500. I really didn’t like having to push so hard for the incentive but at the end of the day I think they honestly didn’t know about it. I will say that I am really relieved that they gave the incentive because I couldn’t find a Lariat ER on a dealer lot anywhere!

Now I need to figure out what I’m going to do with my current F 150:Lariat 5.0!
