Using a program called FDRS I updated the software for the DSM module and lost heated steering wheel and heated / cooled seating functions. I ran a comparison of DSM abt data in the truck module to the data on the Motorcraft site and they matched. However, the current DSM abt file has 3 additional blocks and several line differences to the original backup DSM abt file. I have attempted to reload the original backup DSM file but received an error message. I am not sure loading the original backup file will fix it, but I don't know why It wont open the file. I could go into FORScan and manually make the changes, but don't know what to do with the additional 3 blocks at the bottom? Does anyone have a suggestion?

If the newer DSM has additional lines you cannot reload the older version with less lines.

Does anyone know is there a way to default to the last driving mode instead of going back to normal every time you start the truck?

I'd say try to edit the abt file. Paste in all the good values from you old, good DSM file, then make sure all the new values are also in there at the bottom then see if you can load and restore the file then. I would imagine all the newly added values are already configured the way they need to be. I used the same method to load my vin into a new module yesterday and worked just fine and like it should when I loaded and wrote it.

Good afternoon, Rick! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I would like to look into these heated steering wheel and seat concerns for you on my end. Thanks!

appreciate all the great info here. A couple questions, I have a 2021. XLT 302a, no 360 cam

1) i replaced my taillight bulbs (brake and turn) with LED bulbs (not full unit) and updated in forscan to eliminate hyper flash. I still have halogen front turns. The forscan changes eliminate hyper flash when my headlights are off, howeve, if my headlights are on hyper flash occurs. Thoughts on how to resolve?

2) I do not have bed cam or 360 cam, just reverse and hitch views. Can I enable rear camera at speed? Last time I tried I entered all lines from forscan sheet and it caused issue since I don’t have the additional cameras. Wanted to see if I should only enter a single line of forscan changes due to my camera package

I would suggest turning off bulb outage detection for all lights and see if that changes anything since last I knew there was a difference for front and rear lights.

What is with the vehicle icon? I know when cruise and lane keep assist is on it shows it but mine is on all the time. I see some gauges without it. I think I enabled when I first got my truck but I cant remember, it's either that or its the adaptive/intelligent cruise being enabled but it is there whether I have cruise turned on or not.

It's lane keeping assist and you have it turned on; press the button on the steering wheel that matches this image telltale and it'll turn off

I pulled that picture from the interwebs and it looks slightly different, no lines on the side and the front sensing portion shows a vehicle and changes the colour from green to red when in traffic and I’m too close. It is definitely not lane keep assist. I just took these pictures.

The picture above is the Distance Indication feature is turned on under Features, Pre-Collision Assist Menu in Sync so turning that off will remove it.

Has anybody had success with the 2021s and the Bluetooth version: OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner?

I noticed that they recommend a USB version but I don’t want to use my only laptop (which is a work computer).

can’t wait to turn off the pedestrian back up sounds, every time I come home it wakes my wife up who works hospital hours!

Thanks

Well you could always make your own adapter or buy one a member sells. I made my own sound delete jumper. for less than $10.
