2023 ER Lariat with 25k miles. I’ve loved the truck and had had only minor issues so far. Unfortunately, the heater went out this weekend just as winter was finally setting in in Montana. I just called my dealer to schedule the service, and they can’t get me a loaner for 2 weeks and won’t even entertain committing to when they’ll look at my truck. I see that the heater was recalled for a short run for this year, but as far as I’m aware my truck wasn’t in that batch. I honestly thought the dealer would be a lot more responsive given it’s the heater at this time of year in Montana, but I guess I was overly optimistic about that.

Dang...Also a 2023 Lariat Lightning driver in Montana....🤞....bright side, with the cold temps and no heater, your range will be better...🤨
That was actually another way I was sure the heater wasn’t working at all, my efficiency was too good with the “heat” blasting 😂 .

Just had a thought...purchase an electric space heater...maybe it will be more efficient than the native heater...

I have one that I’ve been using for winter camping in the bed. It is going to be a fixture in the cabin until this is fixed. It only pulls 180 watts so it’s orders of magnitude more efficient than the oem system.

I am really sure that you do likely have a heater issue, but you know, regardless of the issue these days I suggest disconnecting the 12 v battery for 10 minutes and then reconnecting. It fixes many SW ghosts. Have no idea if it would ever help the heater.

Worth a try, thanks!

Hoping any of the suggested quick remedy's work, but if not looking forward to the diagnostic from your servicing dealer and how quick they can get your heat working again. Good Luck!

It’s not more efficient, but it’s only about 1/40 the power. I think you’ll need a bigger heater to derive any level of comfort.

Make sure your coolant level is good.

There have be a couple of reports of the control valve also causing problems also.
I was just going to post about coolant level . My heater was blowing cold also , and low coolant level was the cause. So much for pre-delivery inspections , from ford to dealer & dealer to customer.

Heater went out on mt 22 Lariat ER. They refilled (eliminated the air pocket) in the coolant. Problem solved, but it took two visits. I tried the electric space heater and it tripped the breaker with only a 600w heater. I tried the plug in the bed and same thing. The only thing I can get to work on the proPower is a boom box. Tile saw, hand saw both tripped the breaker.
