In May this year, I had the misfortune to join the Powertrain Malfunction bandwagon (see my previous post). That time, the issue was a malfunction on Battery Module 4. Well, I'm back again in the Powertrain Malfunction nightmare. This time it seems like it is battery module 5. The dealership says that they have no ETA for the battery module (my truck has been in the dealership since Nov 14th) which they say it is back-ordered.

I really love my lightning, but I'm getting annoyed with the failures and the time it is taking to get them fixed. So I have a question for folks here.

1. Is there any information on how much time are battery modules taking to reach the dealership?
2. Should I consider using the Texas Lemon Law on the vehicle? I would probably try to get another lightning if I returned this one.

Any thoughts?

Did you open a case with the Ford BEV team? If so, they should have instructed the dealer to order using COPIS. If they ordered it through normal channels, they may never get it.

IMHO Lemon Law while you can. Obviously LG was not having a good day/week that your battery cells were manufactured. Once, Ok, things happen Twice... And things just got very very suspect.
SK On makes the batteries for the Lightning, not LG.

I have seen several times that SK On was a LG spinoff, but taking a brief look around, I don't see anything supporting that.Maybe misunderstood or something. So SK On it is. I would still lemon law the truck for reasons stated.

Definitely look into the Lemon Laws of the State of Texas. Know what your options are.

100% lemon law and buy a new one at the current great prices - before the end of the year.
