I know, was supporting you!

The F150L hits that point very very quickly. At least for my situation, I snagged a Pro. My final OTD price including all rebates, incentives, dealer fees, taxes etc will be $30,773.

A base F150 XL, 2WD, standard cab, no options is $33,315 before any dealer fees or taxes. Add those in and a worst equipt ICE version would be $36,726, just about 20% more expensive.

That’s ignoring running costs, maintenance cost. Out the gate, it’s already cheaper. I think that’s quite an accomplishment by Ford. It isn’t until the ER battery comes into play that the tables turn, but every SR like for like is pretty much there.
Congrats on getting a pro! It is definitely an exceptional value. One of the only EVs I know if that actually costs less up front than a comparable ICE vehicle.

F150 Lightning Lariat ER [6/20]
Some people might not want to hear this, but by my math,, there's an aprox 20k price difference btween a Lariat ER and Lariat ICE. You then have to also factor in home upgrades (lets say another 2k or so). Without the $7500, that's pretty steep. Even if you save $2k/yr on gas, that's a long time to pay it back.

Without the tax credit, $80k for a Lariat ER is a pretty steep price. I figure my truck will end up costing about $70k after rebates and discounts, which is still steep, but is at least a little more palatable.

I just don't see how Ford could make the Lariat ER not eligible. They can just remove some equipment, remove the charger, etc. and keep the price at the same price point. That's what I would do.

My 2021 2.7L Lariat 502a stickered for $67,040.

My 2022 Lariat Lightning ER will sticker for $80,094.

$80094 - $67040 - $7500 = $5554.

And my 2021 Lariat has the standard engine and no moonroof. And if you were to build that same vehicle for 2022 it is over $74k.

In my mind, it's an incredible value.

Before I ordered I spec’d a very similar lariat for 74k. Yes, you could spec a lower lariat and say it’s 20k more but if you want a comparison I think the most accurate way is to spec them as close as possible. If you do that it’s a close comparison like pioneer said.

Yes. To get a comparable Lariat to the Lightning ER, you would have to spec a hybrid.

Here is a truck I built on the build and price. Same color as my Lightning. Hybrid powertrain with all the options the Lightning ER comes with. $75,830.

One thing to keep on mind here is, in average, EVs hold their value better than ICE. Yes, you pay more when you are buying it but you get more when you sell it as well. So even if you are planning to keep it for a short time, you don't necessarily need to break even with the gas and maintenance savings, you will get the difference back when you sell it.

I just priced one as close as I could get it to the Lariat ER and it came in over $77k

I went back and double checked. I forgot the bed utility package and trailer tow. I got close to your total.

Your price includes a $645 acquisition fee for leasing too.

Did you add the 20" rims?

Ah, yeah - forgot to flip it off of the lease option. Regardless, $77k, give or take a grand.

Yes. 20" rims. I also had the Sport package because I built the truck in Atlas Blue.

I think we're close enough. :)

Ford won't budge on Pro price until after Silverado EV comes out, and only if Silverado WT price gets bumped up.

Another note is i would expect to see more package options. First year model has many standard features and less packages. 2nd or 3rd year, some standard features become optional but more packages to pick from.

I just speced a Lariat High Pwerboost on the Ford Build and Price, which I believe to be equivalent to a base Lariat ER Lightning. The price for the Powerboost Lariat (not including lease acquisition fee) was $77,735 while the price for the base Lariat ER is $79,269. This leaves a price difference of $1,534 before the $7,500 EV tax credit is even applied.

You guys comparing F150 Lightning to comparable ICE are assuming someone would buy the ICE instead.

In my case I've wanted an EV truck for over 20 years. I'm only buying the Lightning because it is an EV. Otherwise I'd just stick with my long paid for Sienna minivan.

I'll never pay for the Lightning based on fuel savings. ;) But I'll be happy!

It’s more so about the apples to apples. For a very long time EVs had a premium. Ford has changed that with the Lightning. It’s no longer an EV premium with a long payback period.

I agree the high Lariat is a very competitive price per feature compared to both ICE and lower XLT-BEV trims. The Bev XLT high package was an awful value which might work in 23 only because Lariats get pushed out of the Rebate next year.
Ford won't budge on Pro price until after Silverado EV comes out, and only if Silverado WT price gets bumped up.

Interestingly , ICE F150 reduced packages for 2023 moving to a streamlined offering. Ford may really be trying to gain cost efficiency through package reduction/simplification. I think there is a perception that is part of how Tesla does things efficiently and Ford is doing what they can to copy parts of the Tesla process where they see benefit.

BEV XLT however is badly in need of some value in it's packages. Lariat holds up much better from a value proposition but hopefully Ford throws a bone to the XLT trim which compares terribly to both PRO and Lariat. Otherwise PRO is going to sell out just as fast as last MY.
