Try it with the 50a breaker, it should be perfectly fine.

I do a lot of driving and the 60a breaker work well for me, don't need more.

I have the Ford Pro installed and set to 80 amps, but don’t seem to every get but a 10KW draw. That’s like a 32amp equivalent
Get that checked out, it's not normal at all, you might not even have the hardware set to 80a.
I would recommend upgrading to 200 A
Don't bother yet, make it work with what you have and you come out ahead. Someone mentioned "future proofing", it's a fallacy, the next best thing always requires more investment regardless. Long term planning is good though but the future should be more efficient, not like these crazies out there upgrading to 400a for the sake of fashion.

I have a Hard Wired Tesla Wall Connector at the house connected to a 60 amp outputting 48 amps. It charges my Teslas and my Lightning great. For backup i can use the 30 amp dryer plug outputting 24 amps with a Tesla mobile connector.

At the cabin I have 2 - 14-50 RV outlets. On one I have a Tesla Mobile Connector outputting 30 amps and if I need a faster charge I have a $179 Tera EVSE set up to 40 amps that I can plug into the other 14-50 RV outlet.

The cabin is remote and we get lots of power outages due to falling trees on power lines after a storm. I just installed a Generator Interlock kit https://interlockkit.com/product/cutler-hammer-kit-k-6610/ and a Generator inlet box https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B14RY4PN/ at the main outdoor panel to use the Lightning to power the essential loads at the house, i.e. well pumps, lights, refrigerators etc. I can use my 6500 watt gas generator plugged into the Generator Inlet box for outages if the lighting is low.

My detached garage, built in the 1980s, has only 50 amp service. That means I can charge at a maximum of 40 amps continuous load.

For several years and four different EVs, that has proven plenty for my needs. Plug in before bed, and the trucks and cars are full by morning. I don’t find that I need to charge any faster.

Better yet, I have 36 solar panels on my roof and can charge my EVs mostly from the sun during the summer months!

Sunrun said I only have a 100A breaker, so they recommend installing my charge station pro on the 50A breaker at 40A which would mean 15% to full in 15 hours vs the 8 hours if at 80A. What are people's thoughts? It would probably be another 5K to upgrade to a 200A so..., but thinking that is it worth it? how much will I be driving my card down to 10-15% everyday?
I had an existing 30 amp 240V outlet in my garage (NEMA14-30) so use the GrizzlE charger at 24 amps and my truck is always fully charged by the next morning. So hard to justify the use of an 80 amp charger when it would not save me any time.

been charging at 30amp for a year now. 3 or 4 times it could not finish in my midnight to 7am window. 40amp is good imo

I have an FCSP with 100A circuit but have it derated to 48A for over a year now. Never looked back and never needed additional charge time. I've also never had an overheat issue these things are famous for.

Some late actual numbers using different charge rates with an Extended Range Lightning. Listing how much % capacity is added to the battery per hour being charged. These are actual numbers I recorded this month on my 3 different chargers.

30 amp = 5%/hr (13 hrs to add 65% ie 15%-8O%)
40 amp = 6.7%/hr (9 hrs 42 min to add 65% ie 15%-80%)
48 amp= 8.3%/hr (7 hrs 48 min to add 65% ie 15%-80%)

extrapolating 80 amps would add 13.4%/hr & take about 4.hrs 48 min to replenish 65%
