Anybody else notice the slight "Click" when starting off either in forward or reverse?

Was at my dealer today (for another issue) and had previously been in for this. Service manager told me there was a TSB fresh off the press! Thanks @Mike G . He said the fix was a washer/spacer to increase tension/pressure on the axle splines, but wasn't sure yet when they'd get the parts in to be able to address it on mine.

Anti-ting, Anti-ting, Anti-ting...... it's the latest craze!

(Just try saying that three times fast..)

Did the engineer that named the new spacer get a special bonus? Cause that's so obvious it really is brilliant. I'm just impressed that they went with that name and not something completely obscure. "Anti-ting?....oh you mean the new spacers on the Lightning stub shafts! Yeah we got those in stock."

Not gonna mistake that for any other part...and everybody will know what you're talking about.

TSB 22-2395 has arrived.

"Ting, Pop Or Clicking Noise From The Front Or Rear Wheel Hub When Accelerating Or Applying
Brakes (Torque Reversals)
"

Now you've got something to discuss with your service advisor!

Enjoy!

Mike

Welp, thought I was being crazy, but I think I have the same sound forming after 800 miles. I don't hear it every time, and when I do, it's not near as loud as the videos in this thread, but it's there. May wait to see if it gets worse, but seems like an easy service fix with the TSB.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I recently just noticed the clicking on my SR Lariat 800 miles in. Included a video below, is this the same clicking everyone is hearing?

Mines only happens when I first started moving one time. Yours keeps making that sound. Hmm

Well I haven't checked in with my SA to see if anything's new in PTS (I will this morning though) but as to whether it's certain VINs...I think it's going to be an across the board inspection of the halfshafts regardless of build date. This has affected so many people on this forum who, like me, noticed this on the first drive home from the dealer when we took delivery.

And if they'll need to replace all those halfshafts...well that's not an insignificant parts challenge.
I bought 2 lightnings in November and didn't hear about a stop order just about criminal dealers charging outrageous markups. I did get delayed with my Mach e gt bc the stop sale because of that high voltage battery switch in the summer that was a pain but they got the software fix fast. Even tho that didn't worse still had to take my entire battery out to replace the high voltage relay anyway.

I will definitely wait, I just meant if parts are being replaced, I’d like to be in the first go round before they run out of the initial batch. I just learned a lot from the MME recalls.
Exactly sometimes it's worth to make multiple trips some dealers get wind of these fixes B4 a tsb is released.

One would think Ford would be on top of this for the Lightning, re: engineering or quality control, as the Mach-E has had a similar problem:
https://www.tsbsearch.com/Ford/SSM50513
Ford TSB SSM50513
"Date: 2/18/2022
Title: Clicking Type Noise From The Front on Turns
Summary: Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 15-Sep-2021 may exhibit a clicking type noise from the front drive area on hard left or right turns. This may be due to an internal halfshaft issue. To correct the condition, replace the appropriate front halfshaft. For replacement, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-04 Front Drive Halfshaft, Removal and Installation. For claiming, use casual part 3B436 (for right side halfshaft or both sides) or 3B437 (left side halfshaft only) and the applicable labor operations of Section 03 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual."

It's not the same issue and a TSB has already been published for this issue.
