Anybody know where I can get a used charge port door?

Door was not latched properly and the car-wash ripped the cover off.

Found the part number, but ford wants $368 for that piece of plastic. Ebay motors has nothing for that part right now. Anyone know where one could find a salvage part?

They come pre-painted in the paint code of your truck. I only have replaced star white metallic ones so far. You can google that part number and find it cheaper. Fairway ford has it listed for $243.

Figured you might know a good source of wrecked Lightnings with doors that are just fine.

Shouldn't the car wash pay for it?

On a related note, has anyone found a way to rig that stupid black plastic flap the bottom to bias up and out of the way so that the door can close. Have lost track how many times, I have almost crushed that piece of useless plastic.

Mine opened up in the car wash and I got a warning on the dash display. Fortunately it didn't get damaged. I've been through that wash over a dozen times without 1 incident.

Call around to a few junk yards and see if they have any wrecked Lightnings, there should be a few around by now. Many junk yards will let you pull parts off of their wrecks.

Sounds like a fun 3d printer project, then find a local paint shop to spray it for you. Bonus: you can make it say whatever you want it to.
