Apple iOS 18.4 will finally recognize Tesla superchargers in navigation

Apple and Ford are FINALLY updating the Apple Maps routing to show Tesla Superchargers on the nav! This has been a long time coming for us Apple peeps as myself and I’m sure others not that the Apple nav ev intergration is vastly better than the trucks onboard nav when it comes to estimated charge on arrival.

How do you set your vehicle to an EV in Apple Maps? I’ve googled this and couldn’t figure it out. Is it something you do in the Ford app?

If only I could figure out how to get the Vehicles icon on my Apple Maps - have the other 4 but missing Vehicles and not obvious how to get it there (running beta 18.4 beta 2 and FP app is current

The truck also needs a SW update for the two to “talk” to each other. I don’t recall which update it was but it was released some time ago. @bosox8 @Kakaratto

I have an iPhone 13 mini, which is fully up to date with the iOS. In the navigation settings there is no place to add a vehicle. I suspect that Apple has decided that my older hardware cannot manage that additional information. Same on my wife's iPhone 14, no ability to add a vehicle.

Just wanting to share where my hiccup in this process was.

You have to add it on the phone when CarPlay is active. So next time you get in your car, try opening the maps app on your phone after CarPlay connects.

I was trying to do it while just sitting around in the evening and couldn't get it to work.
