I hope they also add the ability to easily change charging locations!
About the only thing that is needed for a road trip. I put in a 'ticket' or whatever via the Maps app, and received a reply, but nothing with confidence that they are working on it. Hopefully more people do the same and get this pushed up on the priority list.

I do not off the cuff, let me do some research, I don't focus on iOS issues since I'm an android device user.
I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to but taking a stab here:

via post on 9/8/23 - https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1140747_ford-adds-apple-maps-ev-routing-to-f-150-lightning

... in a Ford dealer communication sent out this week, disclosing that all Lightning owners would have access to the feature, although it requires Apple iOS 15.4 or newer and Ford Power-Up 6.3.0 or higher.

Says preferred network not available when I try to route. Only added Tesla supercharger network. Seems a fail. Connected via CarPlay. Updated to IOS 18.4 Beta 2. Refused to use any Tesla Superchargers. I’m sticking with ABRP…
It has not been released yet. Someone smarter than me found it in the background in the latest beta release meaning all Apple needs to do is flip the switch. I’m thinking in the next beta release in a week or so for Beta users🤙🏼

Good news. Recently picked up a Lightning and got a Pixel for road tripping; I can return it now. I wonder if this means that Apple Maps will also be able to precondition the battery when you're headed to a charger.

I am wondering the same about preconditioning

Anyone know if it will be smart enough to know to only show the superchargers that support the NACS adapter? Otherwise it’s gonna screw a lot of people up on roadtrips if it sends you to an unsupported supercharger…

Also please add preconditioning….

Reading the embedded code on the update, yes. It will have you confirm that an “NACS adaptor” is required for supercharger use. As more stations are added to the network, not too sure if it will live update tho

I sure hope it live updates available charger info. Other apps seem to be able to grab that, so I’m sure the api allows it.

Good news on adapter confirmation.

Now come onnnnn precondition. We get that and they add propower back into the app my wish list will be about wrapped up. Nothing else to complain about.

To add preconditioning Ford would have to really trust Apple Maps software, and basically give up on the main feature benefit of their own in car navigation. Unlikely IMHO.

they did it with Google and Google Maps. I'm not sure how working with Apple would be any different in that regard.

Android auto feature , IOS doesn’t support it.
CarPlay users can’t get preconditioning outside of the Ford Nav unfortunately, unless that’s changed.

I understand that it doesnt currently on iOS. Android auto also used to not have it, until Ford worked with Google to allows Android Auto / Google Maps to trigger preconditioning to get it integrated. All I am saying is there is nothing stopping Ford from working worth with Apple to do the exact same with Apple via CarPlay / Apple Maps (if Apple wants to).

I will note, Ford and Apple have already worked together to allow for the Driver Display turn instruction to be triggered from CarPlay /.Apple Maps (been there from the start) and around this time last year was able to get Vehicle battery status shared from the Vehicle to Apple Maps to allow for EV trip planning.

The next logical step would be to integrate preconditioning with Apple (similar to what they did with Google)
