Is module 6 smaller than others?
Do you know if the labor is covered if this happens in year 3-8?
And it was a Platinum ER module, so that should be more expensive than a SR module?
Labor is covered through year 8, but not if you upgrade to an "ER Max"!

I could live with $4K in 200K miles. I would keep it even with 40% drop in range.
Maybe not if you need to have all 9 modules replaced!

‘The problem is, they likely would not go bad at the same time otherwise I would call it totaled after warranty . If hope keeps me changing nine, one at a time, at the end of it, I won’t be very happy with the tech. Unless cost and speed of replacing them significantly drop or new compatible battery tech makes them lighter, safer and more reliable. I guess we will have to watch the thread on this as the trucks get older. I know people have gone back for module replacement twice on the same truck so far. We will have to see if there will be 3 times and 4 times in the next few years.

I don't know for certain, as in official policy.

Based on my view of various sources ie. Munro videos and similar, the cells within the module might be sent to reclamation processing facilities, the cells are ground down and precious metals are recovered to be use in secondary battery manufacturing.

I think it's "difficult" for the cell stacks to be disassembled without damage to the collector tabs.

What do you think @MickeyAO ?
It's not difficult...it's impossible, and I have first hand knowledge.

And if you are happy with your dealer’s service, please share where you got it done.

p.s. I hope you are not hit too hard by current events (your job).
I had my battery module replacement work performed at Waldorf Ford, Waldorf, MD. I'm pleased with the overall experience, aside from the disappointment of losing my truck for 22-days.

Looking at my invoice, it reflects the following:

Parts: $2,819.76
Labor: $1,351.74 for 26.4 hours.
Total: $4,014.50

The actual repair work was completed in a little less than a day and a half. Summary of repair timetable:

Day-1: Delivered truck to dealership--had an 08:00am service appointment.
Day-5: Identified fault with battery module #6.
Day-18: Parts arrived dealership.
Day-21: Battery module work began.
Day-22: Work completed

2023 Lightning Platinum
Mileage: 12,000
Build Date: Aug 2023

@Maxx Happy to say I still have a job, even with all of the current unrest in the Federal workplace.

2024 lightning
I have a 2024 Ford lightning with 630 Miles got the Orange wrench Dealership said it's a bad battery module they say it will take five to 10 days to get one, then two days to install How common is this ? On this forum There seems to be a lot of these Types of failures

Well, its been a 14 day process I think longer due to a module that was damages in shipping but i have it back now and its running good this is an overview of what they did. I got to say Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent Wa was awesome kept me informed all through the processes I assume all the tech speak mean something to someone LOL

Yes, 2022's more likely, 2023's somewhat, but disturbing to see 2024's show up. It seems that @Ford Motor Company quality control has not got the message yet. Somehow warranty costs are being absorbed by the shareholders.
Maybe we will all get lucky like the Bolt owners and in 4 years Ford will be replacing all our batteries and giving us another 8 year 100,000 warranty 😎
