I'm glad I'm not the only one with this. I tried to "fix" it by deleting the truck from maps and now I cant get the vehicle to re-appear.

Same here. I’ve been frantically trying to re-add my Lightning to Maps for the past two days, but I’ve had no luck. I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps listed on these forums and Reddit, but I keep getting stuck.

I was not receiving battery information, and I tried troubleshooting by deleting the truck. That was a huge mistake!

hopefully we have a fix soon!

Apple Maps doesn’t recognize the lightning as a compatible car. 😭

Same here. My battery is stuck at 36%. Meaning most places it’s telling me to get a charge. Since I can’t remove the charging stop, this makes maps useless until this is resolved

How many of you that posted this issue are using an Apple iphone that just updated? I know for some of my friends who just updated their iphones are having issues with other things all of a sudden.

As others have said. This is an apple thing. Just telling you that it can not get the charge information. Its a feature not a bug.

I’m not sure that’s right, after trying to get it to sync back up after removing the truck it appears the communication isn’t working. Since the car sends a flag to CarPlay I suspect it might be on the Ford side.

I’m not running the newest update on my phone.
I learned a long time ago to keep automatic updates turned off. :)

My phone hasn’t updated in a while. So don’t think it’s due to an update. The fact that getting the battery SOC needs to have via cellular vs an API with the car is silly. CarPlay is already communicating with the cars audio system.

This is true but for me yesterday it just never came back at all. That’s the first time I’ve seen it not work for an entire drive (1hr drive).
Yup.. happened yesterday on a trip down the coast. Got the error message, and then once it restored the range estimate was no longer accurate.(and stuck— typically it adjusts throughout the trip, and usually underestimates the final range). This time I was 30 miles from my destination when we hit the estimated battery level for the destination (51%). Not good. We then canceled the trip and remapped, and it reset the estimate to 77% at destination. Apple Maps /carplay has been so reliable for range estimates, and I hope they fix this soon. I can’t find a place to report the error. This seems to have happened after the 18.3 update.

I just finally tested this and it still shows the battery level. My phone was recently updated to 18.3.1 (was also working on 18.3).

Edit
After reading all the posts, it seems that some will show the number but it will be wrong. I didn’t test a long trip. I was just making sure it didn’t show what OP had. Sorry for any possible confusion.

Same problem for me as well. It is stuck referencing a charge level from a day ago.

Same here maps stopped updating battery level a couple days ago. Ford and Apple released updates at around the same time, so I’m sure which update caused the issue. FordPass reads soc accurately.
I removed lightning from CarPlay vehicles and to reset connection.. this removed EV options all together, and can’t get EV stats back at all. Kind of better to have it removed entirely, as that allows using maps without inaccurate soc reading (last known battery level 2 days ago), which means Maps doesn’t direct me to a charge station.
hopefully Apple/Ford release an update to correct this soon. I like seeing SOC on maps, but it isn’t entirely necessary for my driving.

goodluck friends lmk if you find a fix.
