You should post that with the caveat - the battery is very high voltage. Only qualified technicians should perform any maintenance on it.

All I can picture is "Bubba"and a couple of floor jacks trying to lower a battery after completely destroying every water tight connector and fitting.

It's not rocket science, sure some will do what you said, but the vast majority wont. The better question is what the difference in size and shape between the SR and ER. Here in 6-8 years, even 10 years after the batteries are out of warranty, there will be plenty of people who do the swap themselves.

I wish them luck. I am sure some will be successful. Most will still end up at a shop for repairs.

right, no difference in the battery size/pack, although there may be other inverters/chargers for the larger battery...

Not really true. Both batteries have 9 modules taking up the space. It's that the cell modules are different. SR has 9 40 cell modules. ER has 8 56 cell modules and 1 40 cell module. This arrangement is different from the Mach E which as you noted was two modules less for the SR.

Yes that happens with all vehicles not just EV's. Mach E may be more susceptible because of the way it is required to mount adaptors to the lifting points so that there is clearance to lower battery. Very poorly thought out battery mounting.
