Just keep in mind, god forbid, when something bad happens to you or your family, because of what a FOREIGN national is doing to our county, that Joe Biden is no longer POTUS.

The good news for all of you trump supporters is that the term 'climate change' has been removed from the governments vocabulary. So no more hurricanes, no more floods, no more fires, no more once in a lifetime (every year) massive storms. No need to try to do anything to try to help that situation. The only thing he has accomplished on day one. Drill baby drill.

Power corrupts. Money and power corrupts absolutely.

You have got that right!. Bitcoin, for one, figured it out. If they wanted to succeed they must bribe the leaders. trump who yeas ago had it right about the dangers, quickly reversed his opinion once the money faucet started flowing. Ticktock the same.

In retrospect the EV industry should have been buying more republicans.

It would be impossible to outspend the oil industry.

I’m not a Trump supporter but a moderate that can see and appreciate good ideas on both sides that help the majority of people. “Climate change “ has been happening since the beginning of time. How are the 7 wonders of the world lush with vegetation mostly now deserts? No machinery or mass populations were present during that time. How do forests regrow when they become diseased and overgrown ? - or better yet , how do you manage them so they don’t become diseased and overgrown? Progressives are against thinning out forest practices that have been around for centuries because an endangered squirrel might get killed but then yell when half of California burns and blame it on climate change. As more and more people populate the world -more and more news is broadcast on tv and social media that are meant to anger viewers for ad sales, the more you will here about natural disasters that have always happened / and in same magnitude but there weren’t the amount of people living in those areas that time.
Hurricanes will always cost more every year but only because a larger population is living by the sea. “Record” damage from hurricanes will always happen until people stop living by the sea.

If the left really cared about climate change the energy grid would have adopted the cleanest form of efficient energy which would be nuclear - but their own party can’t agree on how to implement it without wrapping everything in red tape and doing “studies” that last decades and makes everything cost 5 times as much.
I am all for the safest and cleanest way to produce energy and products , But once global warming angle kind of teetered out - it was replaced by climate change.

It’s up to everyone to be mindful of the earth and their communities - but shouting Someone down over a theology belief isn’t going to change ones opinion.

Remember - arguably the greatest contributor to the way people will travel-‘amongst other achievements - for the next foreseeable future is the same one who supports the current administration and hopefully will find a nice reset of our tax money going to items that make the most sense whether we agree on that particular item or not. I don’t expect to agree with everything DOGE does , but there has to be a reset or else we will become Europe / Rome /Greece a lot sooner then it took them to become what they are now. We all want change unless it affects us personally then we get mad and vote someone out of office until we get our way.

ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.- JFK

The earth is 4.5 billion years old, and yes there have been many changes over the years, but the recent significant climate change is considered to have started around the mid-to-late 19th century, coinciding with the onset of the Industrial Revolution and the rapid increase in greenhouse gas emissions from human activities; however, the most noticeable warming trend has occurred in the last few decades, with the fastest rate of warming happening since the 1970s. I have noticed great changes in my short time on the planet.

I don't know of any progressive who is against maintaining the forests. So I don't know about that one. Norway does it and you don't get much more progressive than that.

As far as nuclear energy is concerned, you are right that it is clean to produce electricity, the problem is the waste, which lingers and remains hazardous for hundreds of thousands of years. I know they are working on new systems that have very little waste now, but until they come on line it's a problem. Yucca mountain is full.

I am in 100% agreement with this statement.

But to try to make this into another 'both-sider-ism' is not fair. I like to consider myself a 'moderate' too. There are no moderates in the MAGA party.

No, no there does not. That is the issue.

Do we need to find a solution? Yes. But a dramatic change is immensely disruptive. The term "throw the baby away with the bathwater" comes to mind. You cannot suddenly disrupt the workings of government, it does not adapt quickly, and will not suddenly learn to do so, because sudden changes were implemented. The end effect may not be that it eventually gets fixed, the end effect absolutely can be that it breaks.

Its like saying that a drug user needs to "reset" so just stop the drugs. The issue is stopping drugs like opiates CAN very much kill you.

This isn't twitter. If that fails some people will cry and others will get new jobs. This is the government, the effects can very much be that people don't get their social security checks, or the VA stops functioning entirely, or the military is unprepared for war, or the populace isn't educated and this country falls behind other nations. The end effect isn't stocks and investments, its peoples very lives.

This COUNTRY is an entity, and it should be reliable, accountable, and consistent.

I like the fact that EVs are not mainstream. I'd love to see them stay that way. Mine is a commuter only, the only EVSE i need is in my garage.

All the big manufactures could care less about government funding... Public charges will still be built. Ionna is an example, they are supported be all the BIG manufactures. You also have other companies moving forward as well, like TA stations, Loves, GM stations, Walmarts, Costco, Target, and Tesla among others. So who cares what the government does. We all mainly charge at home and only use Public charging when we travel. So just my opinion. I LOVE my Lightning.

Close, but Yucca isn't full. It was never used. Nuclear waste lasts a long time, but it is TINY! Coal plants put out more radioactive waste.

Right, I should have said full of documents. I know about the coal issue, In a town not to far from me they were going to build a nuclear power plant, but do to many construction problems it could never get a certificate to operate as a nuclear facility, so they converted it to coal. If you want to see the effects of coal emissions just go there and talk with the residents. It is shut down now.

My father-in-law, a Nuclear Physicist, was very concerned about the waste for many reasons. He died over 40 years ago. I wish he was here so he could explain it to me again.

edit: got a correction from my wife, we have only been together for 30 years. I was pretty darn close.

Coming from a engineer in the field, if you put all the N waste so far in one spot, it should cover a basketball court. The space is taken up by the containment vessels.
