I'm not sure how the dealer model works for service, but I would think it is a cash cow. I think my truck was at the dealer for 49 days and a couple battery swaps last year. That's gotta be some good book hours for them to bill back to Ford. I'd be embracing these things - they practically print service money.

Just took delivery on Jan 27th, and within 10 days it's died. Had a Mach E since release with 0 issues and traded in for thr lightning.

Woke up in the morning. Started car via app as usual, battery charged to 85% was plugged in overnight due to temperature. Unplugged, started the vehicle and as I reversed out of my driveway got the warning to pull over slowly. As soon as the car stopped, watched my available power drop from 100 to 3, and another warning pop up to service vehicle immediately. Vehicle had full accessory but was essentially a very expensive street decoration. Had no issues present in the Fordpass app and no other notifications.

I was able to call ford roadside assistance who sent a tow truck to check the 12v, which was in range and charged. Vehicle then got loaded up on a flatbed.

Thankfully because I still had full accessory power i was easily able to use the emergency tow function in the sync to get it shifted to neutral.

Vehicle towed to local dealership based on distance, and when there they stated there could be a multitude of issues. Unfortunately for me however dealership stated they would not give me a loaner vehicle until March 10th.... and would not provide me with a rental. They then went on to say I should call the selling dealership so that they can fix the vehicle and get me one of their loaners/rental, and have them tow the vehicle to their service department.

I'm shocked that this was the customer service I recieved for what is obviously a vehicle issue that has caused a catastrophic failure within 10 days of ownership.

Not sure how others here have dealt with warranty issues, but dealing with the dealership so far has been a nightmare.

Also widly concerned that the vehicle in less than 2 weeks of ownership has failed. Having remorse now for trading in my issue free Mach E!
Call the Ford BEV hotline, in general it seems to get the dealers to play ball.

Let them know the crappy response that dealer gave you and push to get reimbursed for a rental. Its really sad that we are still seeing these issues with the HVB.

A "profitable" Service Department at an Automotive Dealership pays the expenses for the entire Dealership. (100% Absorption or better)

Something new, or an older recall you haven't done yet? Most dealerships have a third party service who contacts owners about open safety recalls. They are required by the manufacturer to have a certain percentage of recall completion on units registered in their area. They also get more aggressive with these emails/texts/calls when their Service Department is slow.

I bought my Lightning from a dealer 2 1/2 hours away. When I received a recall letter, I made an appointment with my local dealer. When I went in they indicated that the selling dealer should have taken care of it, since it was flagged before I bought the Lightning, but they were more than willing to service it from now on. I was very pleased with this response, especially since I had purchased my MME from them and they had performed the MME's 10K service.

First I have heard about it, called the dealer directly and got the same Allio bot. I hate it when automation AI runs interference on calls.
I bought the truck from a dealer bout an hour away, because the local dealer 5 min away would not negotiate on the price....

My selling dealer is 120 miles away. Both my locals have "additional markup" on every vehicle on their lots. My wife and I are too old to spend an entire day playing games and getting pissed off only to reach MSRP followed by attempted rape in their Finance offices.

So the BMS thing (23B70) was actually a CSP (not a recall) that came out in Jan 2024 and expired last month. Supposedly Ford is no longer paying for that.

Might double check which CSP or recall program they are referring to. Ford will mail you a letter for all of those with applicable dates. Or you can check your Ford Account at https://www.ford.com/support/recalls-details/

Technically it's expired, but there is also good will that a dealer can bill against or the MoCo might have quietly extended this campaign, I don't know for sure, but if they're offering to do it gratis, jump at the opportunity !
