Can you actually get the screen's clock to stay in 24-hour mode?

Hmmm... I set mine on 24-hour mode and it's been that way ever since I bought the truck in July 2024.

Just out of curiosity, are you Military, law enforcement, Fire, Medical careers?

Then when conversing with others, do you convert to AM/PM, or keep it Military time.

When I converse with my plumbing clients, it's am/pm.
When I volunteer at the police dept, it's Military time.

Just tried 1700 on my wife and daughter and they were clueless. 5pm it is.

I’m an I.T. guy / telecoms operator working in many time zones. Most of our systems run on UTC, not local time… and you always use 24 hour there.

You can’t imagine the trauma of daylight savings at least 4 times a year…

Mine is a mixed bag. Sometimes it reverts back to 12 hour and I need to change it and sometimes it changes back to 24 hour on its own. I have no idea what’s making it change. I just had a thought that maybe it has to do with profile whether I am using phone as key or the physical key. Will need to experiment with that.

I don’t have PAAK on the XLT, but I do use departure times and app unlocking…….

My 2022 Lariat-ER has been plagued with this in the past, there were supposed to be updates that addressed the problem, for a while it was solved, until it revert at some point afterwards, I've given up and leave it in AM/PM display mode at this point.

Are you receiving available updates and allowing them to install?
What is your most recent OTA?

As for the need, many of my riding friends are military and law enforcement, they all use military time, it's easier for them to communicate WHEN events are happening, as the're often working swing shifts or collaborating with colleagues in 24/7/365 services. When we're setting up events and rides / runs we state times in mil-spec.

Having the same issue with my 23 XLT SR. I'm on 10.1.1 (which I got back in November). It will revert from 24 hour time back to 12 hour time completely randomly (sometimes I get two or three starts out of it, sometimes, it's the next morning). I reached out to Ford chat support, who directed me to take it up with my dealer, but I've had a few other issues that needed to be resolved and were of a higher priority (heater blend door and some CSB's).
As to why, I spent 5 years in the Navy, and 2 in the reserves. I don't have much need for it now, but it's a habit I fell into and just always kept it up. At least I quit calling the kitchen the chow-hall.

It's a long standing bug. I've been using 24 hour time since I was 10 years old and it is so frustrating that it keeps "forgetting." Its been happening since I took delivery of my truck in October 2023.

One thing I've noted is the setting seems to be retained but not applied. For example. I can set it to 24 hour. If I shut off the vehicle and start it again it's about 50/50 whether it will show 24hr. Start it from the app--another long standing bug is it doesn't associate a profile when you remote start. Change the profile manually and the 24 hr is there about 80% of the time.

As a software engineer of 20+ years, I do not understand how Ford is ok with bugs that affect user preferences. Those should be sacred.
