Low quote with 23kwh (usable) of Powerwall 3s is $112k (net $78k after tax credits), without the batteries $84k (net $59k) - includes upgrading my service to 320a, upgrading my barn/workshop from 100a to 150a and running wires for my FSCP.

The other quote is laughable at over $200k
FYI
I installed 17.64 kW Rec pure alpha (I don’t remember the exact panel but they are one of the best available)and one powerwall 3 for half of your lowest quote! Mine is about half rooftop and half on the pergola/ground mount.

The ground mount is at least 300 ft downhill from the house so I'd be paying a lot for boring, I'm sure. Total system is 26.16 kW

Here's what they've included for hardware, including the inverters if I don't go with the Powerwall units.

I'm in the process of getting quotes for ground-mount solar (rooftop isn't an option unless I want to cut a lot of trees) with 20kwh of battery backup.... I could buy another truck for the lowest quote and still have $20k to pay for electricity. Really want the solar, but yowsers!
As posted by others energysage.com is a great place to start. We went with a community solar garden for our home and for a couple STR rentals in Myrtle Beach. The upside is little or no upfront investment, the downside is if you are looking for off-grid supply during outages from your utility because if the utility provider is down, your solar garden supply can't reach you. Our panels in Colorado aren't owned, we just have a power purchase agreement. We do own our panels in Myrtle Beach and wow were they a good deal as you fully qualify for the rebates and it nets out to $280/kW of capacity. We bought in 2021 and since then the electricity rates have gone up 20% and they introduce demand pricing this spring. I'm calculating we'll hit break-even by the end of this year.

In a nutshell, check out if you can get into a community solar to get the benefits of solar without the upfront costs and then only install battery capacity to meet your objectives. Figure out what your objectives are for the battery backup. Where we are, in metro areas, power outages lasting more than a few hours are very rare. My primary objective is peak-shaving, so I'm looking for 5-10kWh of battery.

If you really want the solar generation capacity on your property, then consider self-install. There are a lot of resources out there if you are willing to put in the labor yourself. We have friends that are 100% off-grid as it would have been over $100k to bring power to their property. They put in a 30kW ground-mount system with 20kWh of battery for 1/3 the price of the lowest bidder. They did the physical mounting and paid an independent electrician for all of the wiring/permitting.

I've had EVs for 10 years and no, I don't think I'll ever need an 80A EVSE for any reason. I charge my Lightning Lariat ER on a 40A and it's never an issue to get the charge I need overnight. In addition, Ford dropped the 2nd onboard charger in the '24 lineup, so an 80A charger does you no good as all you can use is 48A and there are a ton of 48A capable EVSEs at 1/3 the price point. The only vehicle on the road that would have a problem charging overnight is the 200kWh pack on the EV Hummer.

It's not that I don't want battery backup, but I need a system that is reliable and affordable. Considering the horror stories for installation, outrageous installation prices, plus forced contracting with SunRun is a poison pill too far for me. I will either wait for Emporia's solution that promises to be less than 1/2 the cost of the Ford backup solution (and will actually work) or forget the storage in the truck all together and just put in rooftop solar + battery backup system. I don't need 131kWh on tap if I have panels on the roof, I need 10kWh. Plus, I am really more interested in peak-shaving as I live in a major metro where I pay through the nose during the day for Time-of-Use electricity rates. I can't peak-shave when I'm not home with the truck.
I did not use Sunrun for my install. Additionally, I understand that Ford has now partnered with QMerit.

QMerit is the installation company now. You got the battery backup working with no setup with Sunrun?

Did not mean to cause confusion. I only installed the Ford Charge Station Pro as a means to charge my Lightning and now also my EX90. I am not doing any back up to the home.
