They will only lower the price if no one is buying them. The online Review Hype has people holding on to their Reservations.
The CT is a revolutionary product that has demand, but affordability is an issue for many reservation holders. Tesla smartly priced it accordingly to keep supply and demand in check. When the government starts QE in 2024, expect more qualified buyers. Tesla is very fluid in its price changes.

When BBC provides a thought full article of Musk going bankrupt on his Twitter $40+B purchase, his "disaster" rollout of the CT, the two recent Space X failures; it makes me think he will be hesitant to go thru years of losses perfecting the CT for a relatively small market for it.
LOL this is how you know somebody is hopelessly biased -- they call two DEVELOPMENT rockets that were expected to fail "failures" implying that SpaceX is having problems in spite of 88 successfully launches and landings of PRODUCTION rockets in 2023.

Tesla says they get 10% efficiency loss when they leave the bed cover open.
Some dudes studied the aero of a typical F150 and concluded you could get 10% improvement just by adding a sloped cover over the bed.
It would be interesting if someone made a sloped camper cover for the F150 that had a rolling tonneau cover like the CT. I would consider getting that over a typical tonneau cover.

Let’s see, 4 wheels, a bed. 4 passengers. It’s a lifestyle car as a rolling slabsided pyramidal caminochero . It won’t change in looks for a decade because that’s its main point. Meanwhile trucks will continue to evolve. Elon wanted a vanity statement. A Maverick w/Mach E running gear would be a statement for the masses.

Musk should electrify this. Oh wait. You can buy them and they run on batteries

There is a huge market for not real work trucks. The main reason I like a full size truck is because I have two booster seats and a car seat across the back. The Cybertruck isn't that much smaller than an F150. It would probably work for me. I use my truck as a truck but I'm not running a landscaping company.
CT is as wide as Lightning and 9 inches shorter. Its cabin is small and truck bed volume is less.

I wish Lightning has 6 feet bed. That would make it a perfect truck.

Does it have better utility than a truck as Tesla says?

The goal post have been moved, for 4 years Tesla Fan Boys have been yapping about how this would take over the truck world and put ICE out of business but now that it’s a Dud, we don’t get it.

It’s so aerodynamically better it gets the same range as an F-150 that is pretty much a Brick.

The minimalistic interior is to keep their cost down while charging you more. Ask yourself, why doesn’t Teslas most expensive model the Cyberbeast not have an instrument cluster but the previous most expensive model S/X do? No stalks is better for Truck drivers? Smh
How much utility is defendant on the users needs.
CBeast and the model S/X two different animals, and the CBeast has 3 motors instead of just 2
and possibly a bigger battery. I'm pretty sure Ford, "fanboys", as you put it think the F150 is the greatest truck ever made, so what?
Any how, why are you so concerned about what the tesla fanboys think? You wouldn't buy one any.

You’re right I wouldn’t buy one at that price, hence why I cancelled my reservation.

BTW, all batteries are the same size in the CT.

There was another thread where a journalist was testing one. I think the pricing was around $3500 for it. It's being made, I think just finalizing production specs currently.

Despite the lackluster specs (vs what was promised) and the polarizing looks, I think it's great that Tesla released the CyberTruck. Not really my cup of tea but the premier EV company having a full sized pickup truck on the market is a good thing. Also, we need people like Musk to take chances with new automotive manufacturing materials and techniques. I'm not buying one but I think there's much more good than bad when it comes to CT.

I agree, these will trickle down to their lower
models making better EV’s.

Farley will end up making a deal with Tesla for one of their EV’s in the future, I have no doubt.

I wonder if this will push Pro pricing back up to $60K. Pro at it's current price (and especially at the original price) is the only real challenge to ICE trucks. No one is building affordable BEV trucks which is something big 3 would want. Coincidence? Tesla is certainly not challenging the status quo with these prices.

Or start offering the ER on the Pro. I understand the rationale behind no offering to the general public, but if Ford doesn't want the CT to eat their lunch in the EV Truck Market they will have to do something to take those sales away from Tesla.

The economics of larger battery EVs don’t make sense at prices sub $60k or even $70k. This is why Tesla reduces costs elsewhere: eliminates parts, use shared parts, focuses on efficiency to reduce battery size, and use giga castings to lower manufacturing costs. Don’t plan on Tesla delivering any $61K RWD models anytime soon, it’s just for marketing. They need to sell CT at $80k until scale for the margins to make sense. Ford made the most of the Lariat trim for the same reason. Ford will go bankrupt selling $40-$50k Lightnings
