Good evening, everyone.

I pull a small folding camper, and I’m interested in getting something a bit larger without sacrificing too much efficiency. I thought we could use a thread where people posted their towing information to give the community an idea on efficiency with different trailer types. I’ll start:

Trailer - 2019 Flagstaff T21TBHW - 2,650 lbs empty weight.
Height - 68” folded
Efficiency average - 1.4 mi/kWh at 60-65 MPH.
Towing miles - 7,500 and counting

ON EDIT: Spreadsheet Link -

Who’s next?

Efficiency average - 1.1 mi/kWh at 60 MPH.
Towing miles - weekend getaway 140 miles round trip this weekend.

I was thinking of getting a smaller trailer but the efficiency is not that different to justify a change. I still cannot get past the Texas / New Mexico charging desert on I40 . Hopefully soon there will be more charging stations or I will receive the Tesla adapter. I would like to go camping out west direction towards Colorado.

Average efficiency - 1.2 mi/kw at 65 mph interstate and 50-55 on the mountain roads.
This trip had 14,500 and 12,500 of downhill. Some freeway, lots of mountain roads. Not gonna lie, I did have some range anxiety at the top of Washington pass, but a 15 mile downhill relieved that. One charge stop for lunch. Long leg was 137 miles after lunch that included 8,500 of elevation gain. Used A Better Route Planner to plan trip. It was conservative, except on the climb, which did give me some range anxiety. The destination estimate was accurate.

We are towing a TimberLeaf teardrop Pika (model) camper trailer. Dry weight = 1480 pounds, + our gear and a RoofNest platform hard tent on top.

With my old Mustang Mach E equipped with the Euro Ford-authorized tow drawbar, I pulled 1.9 - 2.0 miles/kW in the Summer at 62 - 64 MPH (the design speed limit for that tow drawbar setup) on flatlands, and far less in up the mountains. In Winter 2004 during the cold snap when I pulled that rig from Colorado to Maine, I got between 0.9 and 1.4 miles/kW... the very low number was while crossing & camping in the Colorado Rockies.

Now with the Lightning ER, so far all during the warm months, I get about 1.7+ miles/kW in the mid-Atlantic holding about 75 - 80 MPH.

I now have / had about 7,500 miles pulling this teardrop trailer with the Mach E, and another 2,000 so far pulling it with the Lightning.

I have a slightly different towing experience for yall. i dont know all the specs but i rented a trailer from tractor supply and 60x? i was picking up a zeroturn from lancaster pa to bring home. stop and go traffic in rural and suburban areas with hills and curves. did about 80-100 miles round trip. i avg 2.1 mi/kwh. i post this because if youre a local contractor towing mowers or trailers from job to job this truck will def. excel and provide you pleanty of range for the day.

2500 miles round trip Deltona, FL to Fair Oaks Ranch, Tx for the Solar Eclipse.
Average 1.0 mi/kWh @ 65mph on interstate highways. I bought an A2Z adapter and used Tesla superchargers, couldn’t have done it without.
