That's crazy. I would have assumed installing a new APIM required some kind of programming routine that would in and of itself require a properly functioning APIM?Dealer replaced the APIM and still no go. Even after the GW update.
I'm in the same boat as you. If you find some magical combo that works let us know. I'm goin on I think 2 weeks now with an untold amount of different USB drives all staying in the truck, no dice.Been working to update my APIM this evening.
FDRS is quite slow at burning a USB drive, it took far too long for a USB3 device. 32GB USB3 Patriot Memory (my most reliable and heavily used stick) doesn't quite seem to be getting detected.
It detects it in the sense where it will light up the top of the Sync screen saying "MyUSB Drive Detected", where as MyUSB being the name of the drive. Nothing after that, even with it sitting for 10 minutes. It was dark in the garage and I saw the read light on the drive light up, but only for those shining moments.
Tried a soft reset of the APIM via the Power + Seek keys. Reset it via FRDS, no dice. Waiting to get prompted for the download screen but no dice.
Leaving the USB in the truck to see if I makes a difference tomorrow when I take the kiddo to daycare.
Between waiting for the USB stick to burn and then being hopeful that my drive would be detected and it would start to pull down the updates.... Not a good way to spend 3 hours!
I've read through all the posts here and it seems like the APIM has a mind of its own. Perhaps I should ready an altar tomorrow?
I'm just hoping to make it through this APIM before 2 day license expires. Not to mention it is going to start to get pretty cold.
Edit: Didn't see a pending Gateway Module so I think I'm good to update the APIM.
At this point I'm not surprised I guess with everyone elses experience in this thread. I did take a couple short 5 minute jaunts around the neighborhood. Since I'm WFH'ing today I have the truck idling in the driveway (Powerboost). It's been running for just over a half hour and I'll check back here at the top of the hour again to see if it picked it up the drive. Bounced the APIM via the soft reset keys a few times this morning too.I'm in the same boat as you. If you find some magical combo that works let us know. You’d think it would go smooth. Jesse said he’s getting a serial number error. I read somewhere online that they were plug and play. But guess not. Extremely pist! That's crazy. Tried that as well. Still didn’t work.Mine Finally updated!! Not sure if it was coincidence or not but I turned off my house Wi-Fi from sync the day before.
Just keep that USB stick in.
Hell yeah that's awesome! So just turned off wifi? You had the USB stick in all the time right?Mine Finally updated!! Not sure if it was coincidence or not but I turned off my house Wi-Fi from sync the day before.

Hi SpeedRacer… yes I left the USB stick in and turned off WiFi completely (that connects to house) within Sync. About 24 hours later I noticed the auto updates and schedule updates allowed me to change the settings. After that the very old version of sync was listed in the About Sync area. (It was all blank for the longest time)
After seeing all that I pulled the USB stick, started up the truck, then re-inserted the stick… about 3-5 minutes later. BAM! The USB install notice popped up!
