Yes, this helps. Sounds like the dataset has split purposes—part of it is for module restoration, part of it is for reporting/administrative purposes. The same part of the dataset is not used for both purposes and the Nano corrupts only the administrative portion. I understand now. Thanks.

Certainly makes makes the dataset safer to use but really adds to the overhead.
I have the original backup .abt file for the DSM I created in Fosrcan, but when I am in Forscan and attempt to load the file it says there is an error opening the file.. I am able to open this file in Notepad so I don't think it is corrupt. Is this the file I need to load to the DSM or am I missing something?

I’m not a FORScan expert. But if FORScan is not opening the file, I suspect there might be something wrong with it. You should really talk to a FORScan expert. Only thing I can think of given my rudimentary command of this tool is to delete any stored profiles you have in FORScan and scan all of your modules from scratch. Then try to load your file again. I saw some odd behavior—not this—in FORScan and the FORScan team told me to delete the stored profile and try scanning again.

EDIT: Try searching the forscan.org forum. There are a fair number of posts discussing this issue. It appears there are lots of reasons why this could be occurring.

Have you tried changing the extension from .abt to .ab or vica versa?

OK I am getting the following error when trying to update the GWM Module A:

Procedure Unsuccessful - GetConfigDataFromGIVIS
Modified Configuration data is missing from Ford server

Any ideas?

I just tried the Cruise Control Module and it failed while trying to erase blocks... Now its purple. PMI doesn't seem to help either.

As @JEB said, do not use the saved profile as that itself may have issues. I am very fluent in FORScan and I will say this, I never save the profile regardless and always let it scan fresh. Message me your VIN and truck info, i.e. 3.5L or 5.0, etc... and I'll look at your AsBuilt and see what if anything I can help with. Lastly, also let me know what version of FORScan you're using.

This is such a stupid rollout stagegy.
I tested mine and the BlueCruise On box showed up in the IPC, but not hands-free!
We still require the final update for GWM which is Power-Up 2.5.2 that must tell the cloud that we are authorized and activate the feature.
Time to "hack" the motheship! :D

It appears Ford is doing something on their end causing issues with updates.

Everyone, you should only run a PMI if you're stuck with a persistent DTC after an update and most importantly, DO NOT run subsequent PMI's on the same module or you're asking for trouble....

Nice, guess I'm getting the 2.5.1 updates... CCM, CMR, IPMA, PSCM and still have the pesky GSM so guess I'll be busy tomorrow morning. :)

Yeah I’d go with 5 hours to be safe.
Drove the truck and came to scan it again.
Got an IPMA DTC so should I PMI it or run the update on IPMA like it’s asking?
