I think as a general rule you should ALWAYS update the GWM first, if an update is available. The GWM is basically just a router—it processes communications among networked modules within the truck and then communicates with Ford via the TCU (a fancy name for modem). I could see real problems developing if you update another networked module before you apply any available updates to the GWM because an older version of the GWM software might not have the newest list of module addresses. So, an out of date GWM might not know where to deliver the mail.1. GWM
