Hey I stumbled across this today on the Ford website. Basically claims you can get the EA discount via FordPass Plug and charge, something many of you have asked for. No need to use the EA app.

What is the BlueOval™ Charge Network Electrify America Membership?
By enhancing your BlueOval Charge Network experience with the BlueOval Charge Network Electrify America Charge Membership, you can enjoy discounted Pay-As-You-Go rates when using any Electrify America Charge station. Benefits of the membership include:
  • Discounted Pay-As-You-Go rates at all Electrify America charge stations, 25% lower than standard rates.
  • The ability to use the effortless Plug & Charge feature, where you can charge at Electrify America stations at a discounted rate without using physical cards or mobile devices - plug in, charge up, and go.
  • The convenience of payment from your FordPay Wallet.
Membership Details
  • The introductory membership fee is $50.00 for one year of discounted access to Electrify America charging stations and is non-refundable.
  • Your membership is good for one year. There is currently no auto-renew option available.
  • Your membership requires BlueOval Charge Network access and will activate immediately, even if your complimentary Kilowatt Hour (kWh) bundle has not been fully depleted.
  • Electrify America Charging stations can be used without a membership at the full rate.
To Sign Up
  1. Go to ford.com.
  2. Click MY ACCOUNT.
  3. Click Sign In.
  4. Enter your credentials or create an account.
  5. Click Sign In.
  6. Select Connected Services.
  7. Click Upgrade in the Connected Services Network tile.
  8. Select your plan.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Check the box next to the link for the disclaimer.
  11. Click on Confirm Activation.
I followed directions and found there was no Upgrade option on step 7. So maybe a "coming soon" feature? Or maybe an Early Access program?

This was rolled out, and then withdrawn, in 2022. You may have found an old page. Or, they are getting ready to roll it out again.

Thanks, I'm guessing it's old page. I was actually looking for backup to support your reply on the other thread about EA charging and Google search took me to that page.

I just cancelled my Pass+. With the new rates I would never break even based on my usage of DCFC except on roadtrips and, obviously, you can just pay for it that month (I expect EA will remove that loophole at some point, too). I had been using DCFC somewhat regularly over the winter to make up for the lower efficiency but I haven't done any roadtripping this summer and I've had 2.6mpk efficiency since spring. I've covered 100% of my charging needs just charging during the day when I'm at the office (free chargers).

I'm surprised anyone pays for it when they're NOT taking trips. That's the whole intent, I don't see them getting rid of it. I see them saying $7 per month or $X per year, where $X is less than $84.

As to breaking even, on a roadtrip it's quite easy to on day 1.

I think the $4 rate was good because it is low enough to fall below the radar for most people. $7 crosses the threshold into "what am I getting for this?". That threshold is different for everyone but I feel the uptake will be much lower at $7 than $4. I doubt many people were only signing up when they take a roadtrip. That's a level of financial micromanagement out of the scope of almost everyone.

I agree. Of course EA doesn't care, they make more profit without offering the discount. So, as long as they stay competitive in rates, they don't care.
