Absolutely horrible. Sharing for visibility and awareness as it’s germane to our community (it was a Lightning used in the attack apparently).

Having first hand experience with the power and weight of this truck it makes you shudder.

Let me preface this post with my thoughts and prayers to all those affected by the horrible event in New Orleans last night, especially those who lost their lives.
It seems the truck that was used by the now deceased murderer was a ‘23 F-150 Lightning. Someone on “X” did a trace on the Texas license plate that was visible in some photos. Authorities have not named the driver and rumors are that the truck was possibly a rental or stolen. As is common in cases like this, trolls on the internet are already using this horrible tragedy as a pretext to throw shade on Ford, trucks and electric vehicles.

Interested in knowing if Plug & Charge was used to charge the truck along the way?

FBI should be looking into the related BOCN transactions if that's the case.

So sad. Obviously any vehicle can be used as a weapon, but with its power, torque, weight and acceleration (not to mention the F-150 being an American icon) I’m concerned the Lightning may become a weapon of choice.

Ever since I saw the video of this drive-thru accident I worried someone might do something intentional.

Obviously anyone who would do such a thing has some deep resentment and anger, and clearly insane thinking as how to express it. Hurt people hurt people. If I could, I would ask someone contemplating violence ”If you were at the right time and place to step in and take action and had the opportunity to be a hero to save dozens of lives, even though it may cost you your own life, would you not do so? Then do the world a favor and take yourself out.”

Yeah I just read news article where they interviewed the owner's wife, she said the truck was a Turo rental and that her husband (owner) was cooperating with authorities with info about the rental, etc.

So sad, tragic, and a waste of human life. I really don't forsee the national media playing up the EV component at all. That would push the narrative that the weapon used to murder people should be regulated or controlled

i agree. If they would have used the battery as some type of thermal device then that would be a different story.
