There are a lot of restrictions to that. Not everybody qualifies.

Who qualifies for the federal EV charger tax credit?
Census tracts, or geographic areas defined for census-taking purposes, determine federal EV charger tax credit eligibility. To qualify for this tax credit, you must live in a census tract that is either non-urban (rural) or defined as a low-income community.

Census tracts aren’t the same as city limits, so you might not know where you fall. The Argonne National Laboratory created the 30C Tax Credit Eligibility Locator to help you determine if you live in a qualified census tract for the EV charger tax credit.

There's more than that. I didn't qualify because of income.

i looked up the Lowes link. It says $279.26 !?

This purchase was in January. All the wire is kept behind locked cages, to buy it, a store associate gets it from the cage then carries it to the cash register, you pay for it, then it is given to you. You can also buy a cut length from a spool and it's even more expensive per foot! Here's a tip, wire has the footage marked on the jacket.

Here’s another tip - larger sizes of wire and cable are almost always cheaper at an electrical supply house than a big box store. And the price per foot is usually the same as a whole spool (unless you get a really big spool). Some will only sell to contractors, but there are those who sell to walk-ins.

I also have a Mach E, it's going in next week for recall work. 1.The dealer I bought it from won't do any work on it "we don't work on them unless there's a check engine light!" 2. Did the panoramic roof reseal " broke my A pillar covers, broke my rear dash camera, left the dash camera wires hanging out not reconnected, light grey interior black finger prints everywhere, USB replacement was jacked out with a pry-driver and broke the black lacquer center dash and they gave it back to me like this! 3. Had my car for two days and gave it back saying they can't work on it because the have two Ford's in the parking lot that they bricked, at least they were honest about it. 4. This dealership has been taking care of my Mach E and Lightning without any issues and if they want to wait, I just have to work with that.
I do have two more dealerships local to me, but friends have said to stay away from them!
I've never had to go through this with any GM or Honda vehicle that I've had.
