Hey all. First winter with my truck. I’ve got a FCSP installed, has never given me a problem, 80a on a 100a line. I’m plugging it in to my truck, and neither the truck or the charger recognize the connection. The light on the CSP stays solid blue, and the charging indicators on the truck remain dark. I was able to use my MILs ChargePoint to get some power, so I know the truck can take a charge, so I’m not sure what’s going on with the CSP.
The CSP appears to be fine in the FordPass app, with data as recent as last week (which is correct).
It’s been as low as 2F, but that shouldn’t be low enough to cause a problem, right?

haven’t tried a DCFC station yet.

It was -20F here in the Twin Cities and my Truck and FCSP were charging just fine the last few days.

3rd winter with mine, no issues.

Have you shut the breaker off for a few minutes?

Is the plug in good shape? Sounds like a connector problem if not software related.

Fixed! There was an accumulation of ice in the FCP connector, below the DC pins. A few minutes with a pocket knife scraping it out, and we're back in business. Thanks folks!

I was worried a bit about eventual environmental impacts on the Ford CSP mounted out on my driveway, despite its factory weather-proofing... things can fail over time with constant exposure to water and temp swings and snow and ice.

To mitigate this, I found a 24-inch basement window well casing at Lowe's, painted it and two L shaped support brackets to match the solid brick driveway wall, and mounted it high enough to A). minimize cord coils to two, and B). high enough to be at / above the driver's eye level rather than at vehicle quarter panel level for whoever will park here in the future.

The mini-awning now does a great job so far at keeping the rain / snow / ice off. Also, the holster port on the FCSP is now high enough to make it easy to engage and visually confirm that it's stored securely. It's also high enough to make it more difficult to drop into snow, etc.

I post these pics here to give others ideas...

Separately, when the plug is plugged into the truck overnight and there is ice & snow coming I use the very well-designed, easy and robust Canadian hood from macapuche.com. The Ma Capuche hood keeps ice from forming on the connection and snow from getting into the connection nooks and crannies, because the juice from the FCSP keeps the area just warm enough under the Ma Capuche hood.
