So.. I think one of these is mine. My FordPass activated and the truck has been sitting in a lot near the airport for a month. And lo and behold, when I lock the truck using the app(usually to wake it up and see if it’s moved) I get this message:

Question: Does the app allow you to close the Frunk?

not that I can see. Start, lock, unlock, horn/lights, zone lighting, trailer light check, wifi hotspot, etc

WTH is a "popped module."

Between "blend dates" instead of "build dates," and now the popped modules, I have no clue what people are talking about.

What makes a module "pop?"

My 2017 Mustang has an active recall for its backup camera but it can’t be completed due to the parts being unavailable. Could be a related shortage

Here’s the recall information if anyone is curious:

They are talking about the module becoming active.

Blend Date is when the body of the truck starts assembly. Build date is when the finished truck rolls off the final line.

Did you notice in the original article that some were sitting on the lot with their frunks open? Hard to miss, but making sure.

@Pioneer74 , if the modules in a truck have become active, does that mean the truck has been finished and rolled off the assembly line? Also, would trucks with active modules be impacted by the chip shortage reported by Ford Authority? I ask because starting with production week 5/23, there was a substantial time delay of about 2 weeks between the blend date and the date that the modules went live and the date the Ford tracker says the truck went into production. As an example, 5/26 blends did not have modules go live until 6/9 and show an in production date of 6/9 as well. They do not yet show a built date. Any information you can provide would be helpful since having an accurate understanding can set realistic expectations. Not knowing is hard and creates angst.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Luckliy the Frunk has a drian plug... If it is not open by default, at least it is waterproof and will just pour out the low lip, unlike a Rivian.

@EVtruckuy

don't know if this is answered completely in any of later answers. But the 2 or 3 first responses weren’t complete.

‘’modules popping is when the 12v battery is connected feeding power to all the “chips” and modules in the truck that are used to control truck and provide analytics to the techs. The truck is built and being powered up.

they say popped when they can view them at the below site

Modules:

it will be a long list if they are active

The way I understand it:
Modules Popped= Populating/Populated

When I followed my build , the Window sticker showed up roughly one week before my Build Week. Blend date, is the specific day your vehicle reaches a bench mark on the assembly line.

If you monitor your build, on a specific tracker ( https://ordertrack.app ) You can follow when your Modules Populate. Somewhere around my Blend Date, it went from no modules visible, to some, to MANY.

My truck then sat with no updates for a few weeks, but officially got a Built Date of June 3rd. Again, another bench mark.
