Ford EVSE level 1/2 charger failure.

Good morning folks,
It looks like my charger went kaput. It happened a couple of times throughout this almost 2 years that I own the truck and have being charging consistently almost every day with it, that it just stopped working and a red light would display in the front, as pictured, but then I just unplugged from the wall, waited a couple of seconds, plugged back in and it worked again.
well, not yesterday, repeated that process many times, the light in the charger glows blue for one second and then turns red again.
Please let me know if you experienced the same trouble and if there is any remedy or I just need to get a new one. I suppose the warranty should cover that. Oh! I did check the power receptacle and it’s okay.

Hi,

Sorry you are having issues - have you tried going to a Level 2 charger somewhere around you to ensure it’s not a problem with the truck components and not the mobile charger itself? I would try that (not a fast charger - just a level 2 destination AC charger) just to be sure you know where this issue may reside.

It's very common for the Ford mobile charger to fail. Lots of people have experienced it. If you got the charger with the truck and it's on the window sticker then it's covered under the truck's 3/36 warranty. Use the new one only for occasional use. Get a higher quality one for daily use.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll do as you said, but I think the problem is with the charger, as no matter if it’s plugged to the truck or not, it’s red.

I’ve got it with the truck, it should be on the window sticker.

The Ford mobile cord is junk. Get a Tesla mobile connector and a good quality adapter like the A2Z and don't look back.

Thanks Rick, I think I ID the fault. “Non recoverable fault”
The charger will have to be replaced.

I’m not sure about “swap out” but my truck did not include the mobile charger on the sticker or in the truck so I purchased from my local dealer!
